  • Day 9 of Training Camp with D.J. Fluker, Pete Carroll and Jason Myers
The Seahawks wrapped up day 9 of training camp on Monday ahead of Thursday's preseason game with the Denver Broncos. D.J. Fluker brought his big personality to the podium and admitted that he was too big to play football with the younger kids and he was so big that he had a hard time finding shoes. Pete Carroll talked about Bobby Wagner's absence from practice due to a special kind of treatment he's getting. He also said that Tyler Lockett is the guy he's looking to for taking over the role vacated by Doug Baldwin. Carroll sounds like he's counting on his linebackers this season for the success of the defense and offered injury notes for a few other players. Jason Myers closes out the show by talking about the chemistry between him, Michael Dickson and Tyler Ott and how they're dialed in when it comes to kicking extra points and field goals.

  • Saturday's Mock Game, Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson
The green team (the backups) beat the blue team (the starters) 23-20 during the mock game in Bothel, Wash. Although, it sounds like it took from Pete Carroll late in the practice to make it interesting considering the starters were up 20-3 before the green team mounted their comeback effort. Coach Carroll addressed some of the things they worked through as part of their 8th day of open training camp as well as his reaction to some of the biggest moments. Russell Wilson took to the podium to talk about his trip to his grandfather's funeral and to say what he liked from two of his top targets on the day: Jacob Hollister and Keenan Reynolds.

Justin Britt was on the podium to talk about how different it was without Russell there and also to talk about the potential that Poona Ford has to become a top NFL nose tackle. Paxton Lynch followed Britt and talked about what he learned from two full seasons with the Broncos and the difference in the atmosphere from Denver to Seattle. Geno Smith closes out the show by talking about leading the first-team offense in Russell's absence and how he's approaching the competition for the backup role.

In the biggest news of the day, first round pick L.J. Collier suffered a high ankle sprain with the team in full pads for the first time. Is the news that long snapper Tyler Ott signing an extension enough positive news to offset the disappointment? • Training Camp Day 3 with Pete Carroll, Bobby Wagner and DeShawn Shead
Bobby Wagner signed his three year extension on Friday afternoon and this was the first opportunity for Coach Pete Carroll and Bobby Wagner to address their thoughts on the negotiation process. Wagner says he'll do it all again in the future and that what is said on Twitter beats any of the negativity that might come out through the contract talks. Wagner also had some help from an NBA legends throughout the process. Coach Carroll addresses the importance of having both Wilson's and Wagner's contracts done. Plus, DeShawn Shead is back from the team after signing for the veteran minimum to return to Seattle. Last time he was here, he played significant time at corner in 2016, but with depth issues at safety that's where the Seahawks have been putting him initially and recognizing that he has the versatility to play in many different spots.

  • Bobby Wagner signs 3-year extension worth $54 million
Michael-Shawn Dugar of the Athletic joins the podcast to talk about Bobby Wagner's 3-year extension with the Seahawks. Wagner's extension matches his jersey number and he also does it without an agent. After Russell Okung and Richard Sherman decided to go at their contract negotiations on their own, there was concern if the front office would be able to successfully negotiate with a placer and as Dugar points out in his latest piece on the Athletic, Wagner wanted to go through this process free of drama. Considering he did it in the same offseason as Russell Wilson we, got to see the contrast between the amount of drama that can go along with a negotiation and Michael-Shawn offers his insight to the contributing factors.

  • From the podium: Jarran Reed addresses his six-game suspension
When training camp kicked off on Thursday, Jarran Reed was one of two Seahawks players who spoke to reporters after practice and Reed took the opportunity to speak to the media and address his upcoming six game suspension. Earlier in the week, he was suspended for violating the league's personal conduct policy. In this episode we summarize the details from an article by Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune that details a police report regarding a 2017 incident. Reed said that while he doesn't agree with the NFL's decision, he will respect the decision and tell his teammates to learn from his experience. He says he doesn't think this incident will impact his ability to stay with the team long term. Reed will be allowed to practice with the team and play in the preseason, and will then sit out for the first six regular season games.
