John P. Gilbert, deputy editor at Field Gulls, joins the show to talk about the impact of the Jamal Adams contract and if we could see a deal for Quandre Diggs and Duane Brown around the corner. The four-year extension means Adams is set to be with the team for five more seasons and joins Michael Dickson and Tyler Lockett as the only two Seahawks players under contract through 2025. We look ahead to the game against the Broncos and talk about what type of playing time we could see from Russell Wilson in the preseason. We also talk about what to expect with another round of roster cuts next week.

The Seattle Seahawks made Jamal Adams the NFL's highest-paid safety this week as the two sides agreed to a 4-year, $70 million contract extension. It got Adams off the sideline and onto the practice field for the first time at training camp and he spoke to the media to talk about the negotiation process. One person who helped seal the deal was his mother, and he talked about how his relationship with Pete Carroll also played a factor. Carroll talked about what improvements we can expect from Adams in his second year with the team and also talked about a timetable for rookie Dee Eskridge to see the field.

The Seahawks hit the road for the first preseason game of the year and we got a look at the team's depth. One place the depth was not strong was at the interior of the defensive line and Seattle was dominated on third down throughout the evening. We discuss two players who stood out on the defensive line, another one who found himself on the OUT side of the ledger, and a linebacker the Raiders blew up for a big running play. Have the Seahawks found their next kick returner? If Saturday was an indicator there are a couple options, but one player stood out above the rest. In our 'From the Flock' segment, the Seahawks front office takes an OUT for not cutting a player who had a bad day against the Raiders.

The Seahawks offense struggled throughout the first half and the defense could not get off the field on third down against a running attack by the Las Vegas Raiders. The defensive line was bullied throughout the game, although there were some nice plays from Rasheem Green and Alton Robinson. The highlight of Saturday's game was a touchdown pass on fourth down to running back DeeJay Dallas. Dallas and Alex McGough talked about what they saw on that play following the game.

Pete Carroll spoke to the media and named two young players in particular that he's going to be watching with extra interest. In injury news, tight end Colby Parkinson re-injured his foot and is going to miss extended time. Fortunately, a couple players are going to be back in action next week that we'd like to see hit the field during the preseason. The first Seahawks preseason game kicks off on Saturday. While we likely won't see much of Russell Wilson and other starters, there are some things to watch for with the Seahawks new offense led by coordinator Shane Waldron. We talk about what we want to see from the running back spot behind Chris Carson and depth on the offensive line with starters like Duane Brown and Ethan Pocic sitting out this weekend. Aldon Smith was released from the Seahawks this week and there is still some considerable depth on the line to watch along with some possible changes to their defensive alignment.
