The Seattle Seahawks delivered a 27-0 shutout victory of the Los Angeles Chargers this past weekend. Generally on 3 IN, 3 OUT it's all about the balance of the yin and the yang. However, when the Seahawks get a shutout, it leads us to re-evaluate that position. We talk about Michael Dickson's closing blow to the entire preseason that had everyone wondering if there was such a thing as NSFW punt highlights. Nick Bellore made a big case this preseason on why he deserved his contract. Plus, who stood out ahead of the roster cuts? Did a preseason crush get the boot? Tune into this week's special shutout edition of the podcast!

The Seattle Seahawks announced their cuts down to the 53-man roster on Tuesday. The only undrafted free agent from 2021 to make the team was tackle Jake Curhan. He talked about what it was like waiting to hear if he had made the team. Quandre Diggs wants to get what sounds like a contract issue or maybe an extension worked out before the start of the season. It sounds close based on some of his comments. Finally, D.J. Reed was told that he's going to be starting the year at the left cornerback spot and he said Tre Flowers is lined up on the opposite side. Will that change once former Jacksonville cornerback Sidney Jones comes to Seattle after a recent trade?

In back-to-back weeks the Seahawks have lost to a former AFC West rival. This time they fall 30-3 to the Denver Broncos in another game where very few starting players see snaps. Because this is 3 IN, 3 OUT, we don't just focus on the worst aspects of the game and that allows us to put a spotlight on a guy like Nick Bellore who was literally all over the field. We also saw some improvements over last week from a young offensive linemen, while another showed us that he's not in line for the competition that we expected.

It was hard to come away from watching Saturday's 30-3 loss with anything but frustration over the teams turnovers, injuries and penalties. However, as Pete Carroll pointed out in his own way that it was primarily Seahawks backups going up against the Broncos starters. However, the teams inability to convert on fourth down also helped allow Denver to pile on the points late in the game as well. One bright spot was running back DeeJay Dallas who also performed well on special teams. Rookie cornerback Tre Brown also had an opportunity to get work against the Broncos starters and wasn't targeted. Brown talked about his progression to this point of the preseason and how he's approaching the competition at roles on special teams.

One of the young players standing out in the offseason was Penny Hart. Hart suffered an ankle injury that Seahawks coach Pete Carroll discussed with reporters on Friday. He also noted that while we can't expect Dee Eskridge against the Broncos, the hope is that he could be on the field next weekend for the final preseason game. Carroll also talked about two young cornerbacks who are standing out in practice. He noted that Tre Brown was practicing with the first team this week. Finally, Pete talked about his feelings around the expansion of the practice squad.
