  • "I immediately thought my life is over" - Patsy Stevenson

This week, we've got a slightly different episode that saw us take the podcast into central London to join the Women’s Equality Party as they Marched On The Met.

When we initially contacted Patsy Stevenson, we thought this would be a standard interview week, but then we realised that there was much more that needed to be shared. Patsy attended the Sarah Everard vigil on Clapham Common in March 2021; she quickly became synonymous with the arrests that took place that day, carried out by police who saw the vigil as a breach of covid regulations. Her face was suddenly everywhere, the face of the unrest that happened when women's attempts to mourn were crushed.

The story is bigger than this though. After Patsy shared her thoughts on what really happened that day, we followed her to Trafalgar Square to join a protest against institutional misogyny and racism within the police. We heard from some incredible women there, and wanted to share their thoughts with you.

The speakers you heard from today were:

    Patsy Stevenson

    Mandu Reid

    Marvina Eseoghene Newton

    Jenn Selby

    Chantelle Lunt

    Dawn Butler

    Bell Ribeiro Addy

    Miss Yankey

    Southall Black Sisters

Also, we suggest checking out Sistah Space and their work on Valerie's Law.

Em’s drunk again and Al’s sick of her new stairs…

This week, the girls interview Em’s school friend and drama partner Harry Trevaldwyn, now an incredibly successful superstar actor in his own right. After deciding to take his career into his own hands during the pandemic, Harry reluctantly began posting sketches to his Instagram. They went viral, he got an agent, landed a role in The Bubble with comedy giants and then starred in the UK’s take on the cult hit Call My Agent! A true breath of fresh air, he brightened our days and we hope he brightens yours!

  • Alex on Go Love Yourself

Here’s an episode from our friends at the Go Love Yourself podcast that we think you’ll LOVE! Laura and Lauren had Alex on to chat about diet culture, loving your clothes, and the f***ed up beauty standards that come with weddings. They also chat about the time Alex had to get Dave to take campaign photos of her in the bath, and how Betty won’t stop humping her…
