On today's podcast episode we dive into everything you need to know about hiring a VA from the Philippines and how to (regardless of where they're from) work with a VA the right way and I'm joined by my friend (and the owner of the Agency I personally use) Michelle

I have been working with virtual assistants in my business since 2019 when I decided to no longer upload and edit my own podcast or do my own Pinterest marketing and honestly - one of the biggest lessons in working with a virtual assistant is that it doesn't just take time to train a VA - it also takes time for you as a business owner to learn how to effectively use a Virtual Assistant - and this is a skill we've also supported our Well Conceived Mastermind Members with because once you've got the process right and have learned to be an effective leader, this is when you start to really remove things from your plate

When I first started hiring virtual assistants - I used sites like Upwork, and I also hired people from within my community. Full disclosure that when I started I had concerns with hiring people from countries outside Australia and United States because:

I was worried about whether it was ethical to hire people from countries like the Philippines

I was worried about whether there would be a knowledge or language gap

I was worried about whether I'd spend all of my time training people

But.... when my last VA left and I was looking for a new one - my Mastermind Mentor at the time - Angela Henderson recommended Michelle who was also within her circles and I was blown away by the Agency Michelle runs.

From the get-go with the Outsourcing Crew, I was determined to be an effective leader, and so focused on training and welcoming Phebe well now have also hired Kate who recently joined us, and these two ladies are my ride-or-die-honestly

Want more leads from Instagram?

I've actually never seen a platform quite like Instagram. Outside of podcasting (which is my love language), Instagram is such a powerful and free advertising platform for your business, with a really high calibre of leads and clients, especially if you're a health and wellness practitioner for other women.

When you have an online business, the goal is always to get people off one platform, and to follow you on multiple platforms and the first other place to send people is your email list. I've heard of SO many business owners who have woken up one day and their entire account has been hacked or disabled and they've had to start again, but if all you had was an Instagram following on one account - you'd be stuffed!

If you have an email list - you can send an email to everyone and poof! start a new account and (almost) pick up where you left off. Your email list also offers an unparalleled opportunity to invite people to work with you and use your products and services, and also invite people to engage with you on any other platforms you're using (such as your podcast, any new or other social media platforms you're on).

If you're starting an online business, it's SO hard to decide where to spend your money, and we're living in a day and age where it's so incredibly easy to start a business.

Back when I started my career in Marketing and thinking of the types of businesses we'd work with - you needed a lot of capital to get a company up and off the ground. If you had a bricks and mortar business - you had to pay rent, purchase equipment and hire staff, and then in order to market your business, you'd have to pay thousands to use the available advertising channels at the time to get the word out - you'd be spending hours and hours walking around and putting flyers in letterboxes, investing oodles of money into TV, radio and newspaper ads.

But today, you need none of that. It's literally so much easier to start your business, and you can do it all online.

Now I invested a little differently in my business when I was starting out because I already had a website and some other bits and pieces, but if I was a beginner, this is where I'd invest my money:

• What I'd use for free until I got my first clients
• How I'd reinvest into the business my next $1,500 and next $1,500 after that
