  • Wells Maley on Fashion, Silk Scarves, and How to Start a Business in College

Today I am joined by Wells Maley. Wells is an ATL native. She loves all things mid-century, enjoys unwinding with BravoTV, and jumps at any excuse to dress up!

Swells started during her time at UGA, but at first, it was only an Instagram account. "@swellsofsplendor" was a virtual moodboard where Wells anonymously posted photos that she loved... think colorful ensembles, vintage advertisements, and anything Slim Aarons.

At the same time, Wells was wearing her mother’s + grandmother’s silk scarves as tops/ accessories. Wells loved being able to wear something classic, yet creative, amongst her peers.

Between the inspiration received from her Instagram moodboard + her desire to revamp silk scarves on the college scene, it didn't take long for Wells to start designing her own. And just like that, the Swells brand was born!

In this episode, Wells and I talked about what living in NYC was like, how she started a business in college, the design process behind her beautiful scarves, and so much more. You are going to love Wells!
