Jaryd is a South African-born athlete, entrepreneur, and endurance sport coach. Jaryd grew up with a deep love for sports, and as things progressed, he decided to give the professional triathlon dream a go by relocating to Boulder, CO. During his time there, he networked within companies like Training Peaks while training with the best of the sport such as Flora Duffy and Cam Dye. Jaryd received his professional license and raced as such in 2019 and part of 2020. Still, after considering his options and meeting Emma Pallant (now wife), he decided to give other things a bit more focus, which led to their eventual marriage, the founding of PEaK team, and much more. To this day, Jaryd has worked with different types of athletes, from runners to triathletes and even potential Formula 1 race car drivers.

In this episode, Jaryd unpacks his life journey as a kid and how many life lessons and experiences led him to where he is today. Jaryd is a full-blown triathlete and entrepreneur all around.

Nick Goldston is a triathlete, singer, songwriter/producer, filmmaker, podcast host, and so much more. Music has been a deep part of who Nick is since he was very young. Nick Graduated from Berkeley College of Music and currently lives in Los Angeles, CA, where he trains and works on his various projects full-time. Emma is a professional athlete all around. From winning 4th in the 2023 Ironman 70.3 World Championships to winning over 16 70.3’s and being decorated in over 37 Ironman 70.3 podiums, Emma is a force to be reckoned with. Emma was born in Surrey, England, but now is living in Johannesburg, South Africa with her husband (also a competitive triathlete) Jaryd Browne. 

In this episode, Emma unpacks her childhood and how her bustling energy eventually led her to run track competitively. After sustaining a significant knee injury she decided to make her debut into triathlon as a way to celebrate her recovery. After winning, she was hooked and has now become one of the most decorated 70.3 athletes in the world. We go on to talk about faith, her new Cadex bike, and the upcoming (now past) 70.3 World Championship in Lahti, Finland.

Matt is a Canadian Olympian, Professional Triathlete, and the co-founder of The Tempo News, a triathlon newsletter and social account to help you stay on pace with the latest in the sport. Matt has competed in the men’s triathlon at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Japan. He has also competed at two Common Wealth Games. In 2014, Matt finished 21st in the individual race and 4th in the mixed relay. In 2018, he finished in 9th for the individual and 4th in the mixed relay. 

In August 2023, Matt competed in the PTO US Open in Milwaukee and finished 22nd in one of the most stacked fields to date of any professional race.

Victoria is the current CEO of USAT. A powerhouse of energy and charisma, Victoria has a relentless vision to grow the sport of triathlon on all fronts. She has an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business, a BS from BYU, and has served in countless leadership roles within the world of endurance sports. From 2015 to 2017, Victoria was the VP of Global Events and Operations for Virgin Sport, a startup within the Virgin group aimed at revolutionizing health and wellness through participatory fitness events and programs.

In this episode, Victoria shares her personal journey to where she finds herself now. She goes on to talk about her vision for USAT, the longer-term goal of maximizing the experience of the 2028 LA games, and so much more. Evan is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with Evolution Healthcare and Fitness, a triathlon coach for Dialed and Kineses, a Professional Triathlete, as well as an ambassador for all things endurance and health. I had the pleasure of meeting Evan for the first time at the St. Anthony’s Olympic Triathlon in St Petersburg FL this last April 2023 while completing my shakeout run a couple of days before the race. Evan encouraged me to run with him, but I quickly fell apart and cramped. Not knowing he was a professional, the next day I was lucky enough to be snuck into the Professional VIP tent where I was able to observe the humble and fun character that Evan held.

In this episode we talk with Scott Tinley. Scott is a former professional triathlete and two-time winner of the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii. In the 1980s Tinley dominated the sport of triathlon together with Mark Allen, Dave Scott and Scott Molina. Tinley was inducted into the Ironman Hall of Fame in 1996. Now retired, Tinley is a writer, teacher, and ocean lifeguard. His latest book, In the Wake of Our Past, is a character-driven work of historical fiction that focuses on a returning Vietnam War vet. His previous book, Racing the Sunset, a journey through athlete retirement and the larger issues of life transition and change, results from one of the most thorough research projects ever attempted on retiring athletes. Tinley taught English and "Sport and Society" at San Diego State University, and currently teaches "Sports, Games, and Culture" at San Diego State University.

Jackson Laundry is a professional middle-distance Canadian triathlete, ranked #25 globally by the Profession Triathlete Organization. While studying at The University of Guelph, he decided to focus on Triathlon while starting a coaching relationship with James Loaring and remains with him. Jackson has 4 Ironman 70.3 Victories and 15 podiums since his debut race in 2017. Mike Parnell has a rap sheet unlike many I know. Starting off in his early twenties, Mike became a professional skydiver, breaking many records on the USA Skydiving Team. He completed jumps in many countries around the globe. Mike then went on to play a pivotal role in the once popular Ocean Pacific surf-wear company until he sold out in his late twenties. Mike then went on to join Jim Jannard, the founder of Oakley Sunglasses as a partner, helping Oakley grow from a small company with 16 employees selling motorcycle grips, to the game changing eye-ware brand we all know and love today.

Trevor Foley is a professional triathlete with multiple Ironman 70.3 wins under his belt. In this episode, Seth and Trevor unpack what led Trevor to become a professional athlete and live a life focused on the endurance sport of triathlon. He goes on to share how he met world-famous triathlete, Lionel Sanders, and how he’s become one of his key training partners.
