From the outside, it seemed like Jason Garner had made it.

Jason grew up with a single mom who worked three jobs just to get by. Living in a trailer, having to sell sticks of gum to buy hot lunch at school, he equated happiness with money. Like many of us, he assumed once he had money things would be so much easier. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t.

In high school, Jason got his first real job working at a flea market. Being able to make twice the minimum wage and overtime meant big paychecks for a teen. He worked his way up to the beer tent, where he was tasked with recruiting local bands to bring in more customers. This organic experience gave birth to a lucrative career as a concert promoter.

In 2009, Jason found himself successful, rich and the CEO of an international music company. Then the death of his beloved mother sent him into a tailspin. He began to realize that the life he created was based on a lie. Money wasn’t filling the void inside. 

So he decided to completely change his life. But waking up not knowing who he was anymore was terrifying. So after some listless wandering, he found a spiritual teacher and began to meditate. That’s when the healing began.

In this incredibly heartfelt conversation, Jason and I get into the hard reality that we all have a lost child inside of us calling the shots. It’s only when we explore that pain and figure out how to heal that we can start guiding our life with intention. Jason tells me why he decided to write his book And I Breathed, and how it’s facilitated his journey. This is a conversation everyone can benefit from. And it definitely parallels the woes of the world right now.

Arthur Menard de Calenge is a problem solver.

It all started with dinner. The guests sat around the table and took out their phones. One by one, they placed them face down on the table. Before long, the conversation turned to, "Surely holding a radiation-emitting device so close to you can't be good for your health?" 

At this party, Arthur's brain started ticking away, and he decided to do some research. So, what exactly was happening to his body if he kept his phone in his pants pocket all day?

What he found blew his mind. Countless studies and peer reviews showing the potential harm that cell-phone electromagnetic fields (EMFs) could be having on your health. He saw words like "cancer," "cardiovascular disease," and even "reproductive issues." 

Arthur has always understood how important maintaining your health is if you want to live a long, disease-free life. But to stop using technology altogether? Sorry folks, that isn't an option. 

In a bid to protect the family jewels, he had to take matters into his own underpants. 

Today, Arthur is the co-founder of Lambs, a stylish protective apparel brand that you'll want to wear. 

Inspired by NASA's spacesuits, their coveted Faraday Line is a collection of comfortable T-shirts, beanies, and underpants that block wireless radiation. The super-soft, MET lab-tested cotton fabric is carefully interwoven with silver thread. Why is that great? Well, it blocks 99% of microwaves, like WiFi, Bluetooth, and cell phone radiation. In 2019, Arthur's revolutionary endeavors won him the Forbes '30 under 30' title. But, he's not letting that get to his head. This "shy kid" is taking the world by storm. And Lambs is growing it's apparel range to also cater to women.

Not only is Art a mastermind engineer, but for over ten years, he has been competing at the national level in Ski Racing and Karate. And, back in 2011, he was a French Collegiate Rowing Champion.

Ronsley Vaz knows a thing or two about speaking his mind.

I am so excited to introduce this episode’s guest to you. Ronsley Vaz is the curator of the first audio marketing agency in the world, Must Amplify. Ronsley and his team produce this podcast for me, but he does a whole lot more than that. Ronsley helps people find their voice, and then he amplifies it.

Podcasting is so much more than having a conversation with someone you find interesting. It’s a way to get your perspective out into the world, and have others hear it and apply it to their own lives. It allows your listeners to learn from you, while you’re learning from them, and your guests. It’s such a full-circle way to bounce ideas off of like-minded, and not-so-like-minded people in order to see things in a new light.

Ronsley knows all of this, but he didn’t always. Ronsley started his business journey so far away from the world of podcasting, it might as well have been in another universe. In 2013, his dream of owning and running a restaurant had failed miserably- and left him almost $500,000 in debt. He didn’t stay down for long though, and quickly started a new business venture- connecting talented chefs with time-poor entrepreneurs who needed a little help preparing healthy meals for the week. 

This then led to starting his own podcast, Bond Appetit, which quickly gained an audience of over 1 million listeners in under 4 months and became Australia’s #1 food podcast. The technical side of podcast creation was the easy part for Ronsley, so he was puzzled when others came to him for help starting their own podcasts. 

Then he had a lightbulb moment.

Realizing he may have something to offer, he began selling courses on how to start your own podcast. It worked. He was able to pay off his massive restaurant debt in just over two years. The success of these courses led to his greatest project yet- Amplify, the world’s first audio marketing agency. Ronsley and his team help others find their voices, and he gives them a platform in which to amplify it. He’s done it for me- The Darin Olien Show is proof!

In this conversation, we get into the importance of speaking your mind. Being courageous enough to put your truth out into the world is never arrogant. It’s critical, especially now, to understand why your voice matters. Ronsley tells us all about starting his successful business and how it led to creating We Are Podcast, the southern hemisphere’s first podcast conference. He also gives us some scoop on his passion project, the audio docuseries The Psychology of Entrepreneurship. You’re not going to want to miss this one.

But, it's not just about the physical healing here. Dr. Pazio checks the mental and emotional side too. 

I could literally talk to him all day. In this episode, we cover a lot of

Stephen Brooks has so much to teach us all. 

And he’s still learning, too! You may remember Stephen Brooks from my Netflix show Down to Earth, which I co-host with Zac Efron. You’ll see Stephen on episode 3, where Zac and I traveled to Costa Rica to visit Punta Mona, one of the oldest and most bio-diverse permaculture education centers in Central America.  

What is permaculture, you ask? Well, there’s no better person on the planet to explain it to us than Stephen Brooks.

Stephen grew up in Miami, Florida, and always felt a strong pull towards nature. He had over 600 gallons of fish tanks in his family home where he took care of jellyfish, lobsters, fish and sea creatures he didn’t even know the name of. It’s that same instinctual curiosity that led him to move to Costa Rica and discover a better way to live.

Stephen firmly believes that we must treat the Earth as an extension of our own bodies. If we treat it well, it will provide us with everything we need to live a happy, full life. Permaculture expands on that belief, by stressing the importance of comradery with our neighbors. We must work together in order to thrive. 

In this episode, Stephen and I have such a fun and enthusiastic conversation about everything he’s working towards in Costa Rica. His passion is infectious, and together we explore how you can take more of a vested interest in where your food comes from and why that is so vitally important.
