In this episode, Kate Pozenik, Founder of Quirk Personal Branding and Career Consulting, interviewed me -  Spilling the Tea for Career Success. I'm thrilled to dive into an enlightening conversation with you all about midlife transitions, sexuality, and breaking down the taboos surrounding menopause.

My journey has been anything but linear, starting my career as a computer programmer and navigating through various roles before landing where I am today. It's this winding path, filled with its share of transitions and transformations, that has ignited my passion for empowering women and fostering open conversations about the real changes we face as we age.

We explore not just the challenges but also the opportunities that come with life's transitions. Whether it's career shifts, changes in our personal lives, or the physical and emotional evolution during menopause, I believe there's power in sharing our stories and learning from each other. I've personally experienced the roller coaster of reinventing myself professionally while also embracing the changes my body and mind have undergone through menopause. It's my hope that by spilling the tea on these often whispered-about topics, we can all feel a little less alone and a bit more empowered to tackle whatever comes our way.

  • We Need to Talk About Our Own Sexual Health Now! | Ep 44

In today's conversation, I delve into the importance of addressing our sexual health, a critical aspect often relegated to the background due to various reasons such as hormonal changes, lack of a partner, or societal embarrassment. It's crucial to understand that sexual wellness is integral to our overall health, yet it's frequently overlooked or left until the last minute to discuss with healthcare providers. I've observed a common thread in conversations, regardless of gender, revealing a widespread hesitancy to talk about sexual health, often due to misinformation or discomfort.

It's essential to break this silence, as untreated sexual health issues can significantly impact our quality of life. I urge you to reach out to me with your questions, no matter how embarrassing they may seem. By sharing our experiences and seeking advice, we can destigmatize these discussions, ensuring a fulfilling sexual life that contributes to our overall well-being.

In this episode, I had the pleasure of chatting with my friend CJ. CJ opened up about her journey from being in long-term monogamous relationships, including a ten-year marriage that ended due to intimacy mismatches, to exploring an open relationship with her husband. She shared the challenges and discoveries she faced while venturing into online dating, embracing her bis$xual identity, and ultimately finding fulfillment in an open, kink-friendly relationship.

CJ's story is a testament to the importance of self-worth, setting boundaries, and the transformative power of exploring one's desires and needs without shame. We delved into the complexities of navigating non-monogamous relationships, the significance of communication and boundaries, and how these experiences have enriched her life and marriage.

Now a certified life and sex coach, CJ, emphasizes the importance of destigmatizing sexual exploration and encourages others, especially women over 40, to embrace their desires boldly and without shame. • Polyamory 101 | Ep 42

In today's episode, I'm diving into polyamory, a lifestyle choice centered around engaging in consensual relationships with multiple partners. Polyamory, a blend of 'poly' meaning many and 'amor' for love, manifests in various forms, including hierarchical polyamory, where a primary relationship takes precedence over others, and non-hierarchical relationships, where all partners are considered equal.

The essence of polyamory lies in the mutual consent and agreement on the terms of the relationship, which distinguishes it from infidelity. It’s a path that requires open communication and a clear understanding of the guidelines everyone involved agrees to follow. Navigating polyamorous relationships can be complex, involving not just sexual connections but emotional ones that demand a high level of understanding and constant communication to manage potential jealousy and ensure the relationship's health.

  • Bonus Episode: The Bumble Backash: The Future of Love in the Digital Age

Recently, Bumble faced backlash for their ad campaign, with slogans that seemed to undervalue personal choices about dating and celibacy, sparking questions about the role of dating apps in modern society. As someone deeply engaged with Bumble and Hinge, I've noticed a shift. It used to be easier to transition from matching to meeting in person, but now it feels like connections are less serious. This change has led me to ponder if the effectiveness or appeal of dating apps is diminishing.

In this episode I peel back the layers on:

    • The shifting dynamics of dating apps like Bumble and Hinge.
    • The quest for genuine connections amidst AI's rise.
    • Innovations we crave for deeper, real-life engagements.

  • From Vanilla to Varied - A Beginner's Guide to Exploring Kink | Ep 39

In today's episode, I'm diving into the world of kink, a term that captures a broad spectrum of activities beyond the conventional or "vanilla" intimate practices. Kink isn't just about the extreme of dungeons and dramatic scenarios; it's fundamentally about venturing into desires that stray from one's usual experiences, which could be as straightforward as altering the ambiance with different lighting.

Within this realm, BDSM stands out as a notable subset, encompassing bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, and sadomasochism. Many people find kink a playful and explorative outlet, a healthy way to relieve stress, and an avenue for fostering deep trust and communication with their partners.

This journey into understanding kink and BDSM invites us to broaden our perspective on the diversity of human pleasure and the ways in which adults can engage in consensual, informed, and joyful exploration.

In part 2 of my interview with Dr Staci Gruber, we delved into the complexities of cannabis use, including its potential for addiction, known formally as Cannabis Use Disorder (CUD). We also touched upon the evolution of cannabis potency over the years, with today's products containing much higher THC levels than those from decades ago, raising the stakes in the risk-benefit analysis of cannabis consumption.

The conversation further explored the medical applications of cannabis, highlighting its utility in managing pain, sleep disorders, and other health issues. The conversation also ventured into the areas of women's health, underscoring the lack of research and the growing interest in cannabis for managing conditions like endometriosis and menopause symptoms. It was a reminder of the importance of being an informed consumer, understanding the goal of your cannabis use, and ensuring the safety and efficacy of the products you choose.

Our dialogue underscored the evolving landscape of cannabis use and research, highlighting the need for more education and open conversations between consumers and healthcare providers to navigate the complexities of cannabis as both a medicinal and recreational substance.
