Episode 131 - TRS New Year Special!

Tom runs his first ‘masters’ race and then we go straight into our first interview with Britain’s fastest female marathoner of 2020 Sarah Inglis! We then jump into a chat with Sean Chalmers and his recent first sub 30 10k! Ultra legend James Stewart then jumps on and we finish off with rising junior superstar Megan Keith. We also reveal the TRS Runner of the Year!

It's Christmas! The week after both jumping into the V35 category, we're catching up on not only athletics news from the last 2 weeks but refecting on the highlights of 2020. Despite all the darkness, there is positivity if you look hard enough!

Tom has dipped over the border line just ahead of the travel ban and brings us the latest on his transition to running in Paris, while Kyle's been Santa Dashing!

Up North the Back to Basics 10k was a roaring success with impressive times across the field, and in the US The Marathon Project was a top class beacon in the marathoning world and saw Sarah Inglis makes her debut over the distance.

And finally, it's that time of the year - TRS Runner of the Year....but this year it's Listeners Choice! Tune in to hear the rundown of our 10 nominess before jumping on a vote soon to cast yours!

In Episode 129 we're pleased to be talking about road racing in Scotland again following the successful scottishathletics 5K in Fife. Killian Jornet has a similar experience to Kyle in his 24 hour world record challenge, and there are announcements on standards for Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022.

In Episode 128 Tom is settling into life in Paris and running under strict lockdown. Kyle is buoyed by receiving a major award, and we start talking about our running goals in 2021.

Killian is a talking point again as he goes for a 24 hour track time, and the British Athletics Marathon Trial for Tokyo 2020 (or is it 2021 now?) is announced.

In Episode 127, we're joined by Kev Mitchell from Scottish Mountain Rescue. Kev gives some really good, clear advice to anyone planning to run in the hills or remote areas at this time of year and what to do if you get into trouble - a really good listen for experienced or novice hill runners.

We've got part 2 of Kyle's chat with Scottish and British international track hero Jake Wightman, and the fresh feedback from Kyle of the Speyside Way Ultra in his debut race director role from the event!

In Episode 126 we're joined by Scottish and British track hero Jake Wightman! Kyle catches up with Jake to hear about his background, training and that glorious night in Monaco.

It's race week and we preview the Speyside Way Ultra under it's COVID measures, and discuss recent news on drug testing in athletics this year since lockdown.

Episode 125 is dedicated to GB Mountain Runner Chris Smith who tragically lost his life in the scottish mountains.

After a short break, we are back with a jam packed episode and we have none other than Scottish Athletics legend and former World Mountain Running champion Angela Mudge to chat over her superb running career. This is one not to be missed folks!
