Chris "Marv" Marvin, 32, resides in San Diego, CA and has been clean and sober since June 22, 2013. Fitness is his obsession. Marv has been involved with some sort of fitness related endeavor personally, professionally, or academically for over a decade.
Marv's background includes everything from being your stereotypical "gym bro" and falling for all of the fitness industry tricks, to working in a top tier physical therapy clinic, earning a B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science, and running local health clubs.
As a result of developing self-worth in Recovery, he found the courage to quit a steady job and start his company, One Rep At a Time – a personal training platform that looks at all things "Fitness through a Recovery Mindset."

What are you holding onto on the inside?
What tools do you have to dig it out and get rid of it?
What's it gonna take to motivate your ass to take action?
In this episode, Shane's plan is to help you think more about these questions and how they might apply to something in your own life. Shane then shares a quick story and explains how it relates to these questions, as well as what you can do to start finding some answers.

Chelsea Rappel is a Yoga instructor and person in long term recovery. She invited Seth and I out to Ume Yoga in Oakland California to talk recovery and then participate in one of her awesome 12 step recovery yoga meetings. We had a damn good time, created some great conversation, and also had some laughs. Listen in to find out how yoga can help keep you on the right path in life and recovery.

What do I do when I feel like shit? I have had a weird last few weeks and noticed myself drifting from my program and routine, and I could really feel it. I was feeling irritated, angry, and I think a case of the fuck its was really starting to spread like a disease throughout my small little human Shane Ramer brain. So what did I do?

BART is the San Francisco and surrounding Bay Area's public transit system. In many stations and surrounding areas, you will find the lost souls that have been eaten up by addiction and mental illness. When you come across many of the BART stations and corridors connecting the transit system, what you will see may be a shock to you. You see homeless people lined up stretching the span of the corridors, many of which are active drug users actively using drugs in plain view, vomit, needles, feces, urine, and garbage that has been left behind. Some call these people Junkies, others see them as human beings who have been all but forgotten and written off to the dark side of society.
The question is, how do we solve this epidemic? 1 in 5 in California are homeless. It's estimated that there are over 3 million people in California addicted to illegal drugs. Thats not counting the people that are addicted to "legal" prescription based drugs.
