Nataly Valenzuela is a woman who knows how to work, scrap, and make everyone around her feel good. Today’s episode is a blend of character study and coaching session with Nataly.
.
We cover what it was like to hustle for 10 years trying to and ultimately successfully land a job working as a host of her own television show for Univision. We also dive into how Nataly needs to learn from that experience to start her own coaching company in which she helps her clients improve their body image and self esteem as springboard for intuitive eating.
.
Nataly is an amazing woman who was picked on so badly for being chunky that she contemplated suicide at the age of 13. Now she is harnessing that experience to support people going fighting the same inner demons.
.
This episode was a lot of fun to record and it will be incredibly valuable for any young entrepreneurs.

Kimberly Pastuch, the REAL boss over at Active Life is back on the podcast today. In today’s episode I discuss with my wife some vulnerable moments I have faced in the last 10 years and how she has been the rock that kept me upright.
.
It’s nice to believe that we can do anything on our own, but the reality is usually much less independent. We all need support from time to time and this episode is a case study of that.

Can you imagine if the most embarrassing moment of your life was also the scariest one? Can you imagine hiding a potentially fatal illness from your spouse and suppressing the reality of it from yourself only to have it show itself in public leaving you no choice but to reveal that you need help?
.
Dr. Chris Zaino found himself in exactly this position when his ulcerative colitis nearly claimed his life. Since his debilitating bout, and one incredible, life altering moment that we discuss in today's show, Dr. Zaino has turned his life around. He has won Mr. Universe for body building, he has operated a seven figure chiropractic clinic, he has coached entrepreneurs, and he has started his passion project, The Hero Secret Sauce.
.
This is one of the most inspiring podcasts we have released and if you are a person who needs to get yourself grounded and start the rest of your life you must listen to it.

Do you still think that it’s possible to be a great coach and a great athlete at the same time? Do you still think that the best athletes write the best programs? You might want to give this episode a listen.
.
Michele Letendre has been wildly successful as a CrossFit Athlete, placing 4th in the world at the 2014 CrossFit Games and she is now wildly successful as a coach heping two of her clients (Laura Horvath and Patrick Vellner) to second place finishes at the 2018 CrossFit Games.
.
I have so much respect for both the type of competitor Michele was and the kind of coach that she is. When you mingle around in the Warm-up area at the CrossFit Games you can see which coaches are really invested in the success of their athletes. It’s in how they carry themselves, the laser focus they have, the way they fight back showing too much emotion when an athlete does well or poorly Michele exemplifies all of these characteristics.
.
In this episode Michele talks about why it’s exceedingly difficult to be a great athlete and a great coach at the same time. She talks about the emotional energy tied to both as well as the cognitive energy.
.
Michele also offers her opinion on the changes to the CrossFit Games and the lack of clarity around where things are going. You won’t want to miss it.

Intensity. If you are looking for one word to describe Jason Khalipa, it’s intensity. At least that’s what I got from a 40 minute conversation with him for today’s episode.
.
Jason Khalipa has won the CrossFit Games as an athlete and he has won the CrossFit Game as a business owner. Today Jason talks about his concept of an AMRAP Mentality, the act of being present in every moment by having wild clarity around where you need to be and what you need to be doing at all times throughout your day.
.
It is abundantly clear that during the time we were recording this podcast, Jason’s mind was singularly focused on the interview. He goes over what his schedule for the day looks like and it’s impressive. Jason also gets vulnerable with us and talks about what it was like to learn that his Daughter Ava was diagnosed with Leukemia (a disease which she has successfully fought and is currently in remission from).
.
Jason is a special person, having had success as an athlete, a business owner, a philanthropist, and a family man. When you hear how he communicates with the important people in his life it will be clear to you why, and that communication might be the most important lesson you take from this episode.
