Dr. Lauren Noel is the founder of Shine Natural Medicine, and one of the few physicians in the world who has injected substances into my right butt cheek (something we discuss in today's episode).

She was awarded her Bachelor Degree in psychology from Biola University in La Mirada, California. During her undergraduate studies, she worked in an acupuncture clinic and discovered the beauty of natural medicine. She also developed a passion for nutrition and began pursuing a career that viewed “food as medicine.” To convert this passion into a career, Dr. Noel completed a four-year graduate medical degree at the famed National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, Oregon.

During her clinical years at NCNM, Dr. Noel interned at Outside In, a clinic that focuses on the health of at-risk youth and homeless teens. As a medical student, Dr. Noel was hand-picked as a member of the Presidential Ambassadors Leadership Society (PALS), and was a nominee of the Leadership Award and the prestigious Benedict Lust award. She completed a one-year internship in naturopathic/integrative cardiovascular and pulmonary medicine under the mentorship of Martin Milner, ND.

Dr. Noel uses a unique, individualized approach with her patients. She views each patient as a whole person rather than a set of symptoms and diagnoses and uses a blend of naturopathic treatments including nutritional counseling, targeted supplementation, detoxification, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, intramuscular injections, and intravenous (IV) therapy.

She welcomes men and women of all ages into her practice. Dr. Noel has a passion for teaching and takes her time to ensure that each patient fully understands her approach and the treatment plans. Dr. Noel has a passion for healthcare reform and has been active in legislation at the state and national level. She has been a weekly lecturer on the topic of “food as medicine” as well as a lecturer to conventional medical doctors.

She believes in the importance of doctors working together to improve the health of our country and is happy to converse with her patients’ primary care doctors regarding care. Her areas of expertise include digestive disorders, hormone imbalances, and autoimmune disease.
