From the opening page that outlines the ideal reader, to the final page that completes the mentoring process, there are suggestions and anecdotes designed to make the potential mentor understand the rationale and process that makes up the mentoring relationship. Mentoring is more than just a chat in the corridor. It is achieved successfully only with a combination of self-awareness, vulnerability, trust, and respect without judgement on the part of the mentor. This book helps to unlock these characteristics. The target market includes an international and multi-disciplinary audience: I have tried to make the information relevant to all professions where professional support is necessary, across any geographical boundaries.
