Eve Jihan Jeffers-Cooper (@therealeve) joins me to talk about her career in music, film and daytime TV. Over two decades Eve has navigated the music industry, won a Grammy award, made a seamless transition into film, launched her own fashion label and now sits on the hosting panel of The Talk, one of America's top-rated day time TV shows.
In this episode we discuss the downside to success, how failures and disappointment can actually help steer you in the right direction, how she climbed out of a 'dark hole' of depression and the affirmations, meditations and rituals that help her stay on track.
Eve was in London for the launch of the Gumball 3000 Rally which took place between 5-12th August and ended in Tokyo.

This habit is inspired by comments in the Facebook Group for the show and it's all about how feasible it is to do a spending freeze. Unless it's essential - food, water, rent etc - then the money stays in the account or in the pocket.
According to one report all these cashless transactions we're used to means we're spending way more than we actually intend to, sometimes up to three times more, and those are expenses that can really build up.
So what I'm going to do for two weeks is keep my purse closed and see what I realise I do need to spend money on and what I absolutely don't. It also means I'll have to prepare lunches, coffees and the like because grabbing one when I'm out and about is completely off-limits. Yikes, I'm nervous...

It's time for another Ask Me Anything episode and in this show I answer some questions from the Facebook Group for the podcast. I asked my brother, Gavin, to help me with this show so he's asking the questions and offering some input of his own.

In this episode we explore whether getting up that little bit earlier is making a positive difference to my day. Am I more productive? Is my concentration better? Am I wasting less of my day?
I also examine how an early start can only really be successful if your bedtime routine is on point too. It's all about structure apparently. Plus there's lots of feedback and insight from the members of the private Facebook group for listeners, which you can join here -- THE FORUM.

Lindsey Kelk (@lindseykelk) is a best-selling author, podcaster and writer who joins me, all the way from Los Angeles, for her second visit to The Emma Guns Show. Now, fair warning, we hadn't seen each other for months and we were slightly delirious from the heatwave, which is why we deduced that crocodiles hold the key to eternal youth...
Lindsey's books can be found at all good retailers and her Amazon author page is a good resource if you want to see all her books in one place.
Lindsey is also the co-host of beauty podcast Full Coverage and has an excellent Facebook page that all beauty enthusiasts will enjoy.

In this habit I look at what benefits can be gained from waking up early. It's cited by successful individuals, peer reviewed studies and many other sources as an important pillar in creating an efficient and productive schedule.
Can getting up an hour earlier - I'm usually up between 7-8am - make any difference to my day? Will I be more likely to fit in meditation? Will I get up and get out to the gym? Will I create a to-do list that maximises the day ahead? Let's find out...

Poorna Bell (@poornabell) joins me to talk about her book Chase the Rainbow, which tells the story of her husband's experiences with depression and addiction. It's an incredible read, both heartbreaking and beautiful. It's my book of 2018 and one I'd recommend to everyone to read.
In this episode we discuss the stigma around depression, mental health and addiction, when and how to move on and much more.
