In this episode, Holly interviews Dr. Beck Hoehn of Mighty River Wellness. Dr. Hoehn is a Los Angeles-based board-certified acupuncturist who treats pain, digestive disorders, stress, and hormonal imbalances, and specializes in supporting women’s wellness and fertility. She is committed to helping patients lead a better life and collaborates with them on personalized wellness plans. Dr. Hoehn believes in small achievable weekly goals that comprise a larger victory on the road to better health. Dr. Hoehn received a master’s degree with honors from Emperor’s College of Oriental Medicine and her doctorate in fertility acupuncture from Pacific College of Health Sciences. She is board-certified both nationally and in the state of California. In addition, Dr. Hoehn is also an active member of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM).  Through ABORM, she pursued additional specialized training in reproductive health and fertility acupuncture and holds the distinction of being an ABORM fellow.

In this episode, I interview Alissa Matthewson of Cocoon Therapy Services - she is a trauma informed yoga instructor, certified hypnotherapist, Reiki practitioner and specializes in pregnancy loss and birth trauma. She is a Mama to one sweet daughter and has a rich story to share. She is in a same-sex marriage. Her first pregnancy resulted in an ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage. Her second pregnancy resulted in her sweet baby girl. In episode 66 she shares about her experience of pregnancy and birth. This was a super fun conversation with Kristin Maresca and was part of a birth processing course she is enrolled in. She asks me to share about my lifelong birth perceptions. It's a raw and vulnerable chat, that left me feeling open & free to share from my heart.  About Kristin -  "I am a mother to two amazing girls, both birthed at home; a wife to an incredibly supportive partner; a yoga teacher; a birthkeeper; a Reiki Master; and soon to be a Transformational Coach. 13 Moons is the culmination of decades of study, exploration, introspection, and passion. I have a background in corporate strategy consulting and international development and have been teaching yoga since 2004. The birth of my oldest daughter shifted the trajectory of my life in ways I could never have imagined. Through my pregnancy, birth, postpartum journey, I was brought to my knees and shown a deep power within myself. I found my calling as a doula and have been working as a birthkeeper and childbirth mentor since 2009. In 2021, I moved to the UK to study midwifery but was immediately struck by the similarities between the mainstream midwifery approach there and what I had witnessed in the United States. In a moment of deep reckoning, I chose to abide by a deep Call within. I left the midwifery course I was studying and, through weeks of intensive yoga and meditation practice, crafted a path forward that would provide me with the experience and structure needed to construct a new paradigm for birth and conscious connection. I now work as a doula and birthkeeper, childbirth mentor, and soon-to-be Birth Story Listener and Transformational Coach based in York, England."
