Reed Davis is the Founder of the Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® (FDN) Certification Course and is known as one of the most successful and experienced clinicians in the world. Reed Davis joins the show to discuss how functional laboratory assessments identify underlying conditions at the root of most common health complaints. He shares how to treat systems, not symptoms, to feel better.Â
We get into Reed's "Metabolic Chaos" theory, and why he's seen this to be such an effective method for uncovering clients' root causes and helping them heal from within. Reed and I discuss thyroid disorders and why most even functional medicine doctors tend to not get great results. Lastly, we discuss Reed's D.R.E.S.S. Protocol for getting people better and helping them heal naturally.
Thomas Newman is a highly accomplished sports performance expert with over a decade of experience in the industry. He has a proven track record of optimizing athlete development and achieving winning results on the field. Newman's expertise and leadership skills were honed during his tenure as Director of Student Performance and Innovation at Yale University, where he oversaw all varsity teams and successfully created the first-ever partnerships with the School of Engineering, Medicine, and Public Health. As a result of these collaborations, a comprehensive custom-built digital player profiling platform was created for all 32 varsity teams, which was instrumental in achieving tremendous on-field success.
At the time of this recording, Thomas was working for Hawkins Dynamics, an industry leader using force plate technology to assess human movement and optimize it to the fullest.
Force plates are tools used for the measurement of ground reaction forces during walking, jumping, or any other type of movement - they can be thought of as "fancy bathroom scales" as coined by Dr. Jason Lake, world leading biomechanist.
Not only are force plates extremely effective in creating winning professional teams (like Thomas has done), but Thomas is also using force plates to help augment the human performance of tactical teams and even law enforcement. We get into this technology and how agencies or users could benefit to not only create winning teams, tease out what takes an athlete from good to great, and how to build a more resilient operator that is less prone to injury and more durable in the long run.
We also talk about Thomas' huge health scare, recovering from a brain tumor, how he triumphed, and his foundation, 40 Staples Strong (https://40staplesstrong.com/) is making a difference from others suffering from this terrible condition.
Sat down with two monster entrepreneurs, Dr. Shawn Dill & Dr. Lacey Book, bestselling authors of the book None of Your Business, and founders of The Black Diamond Club, a membership for service-based providers that want to scale their business so they can have more income, impact, and authority.Â
Dr. Shawn Dill and Dr. Lacey Book are both former chiropractors who franchised their businesses and opened multiple locations around the US. They both realized that most of the practitioners in their industry didn't understand the keys to running a successful and profitable business. Most of them were working insane hours and were extremely time-poor but barely breaking even. This led to the creation of Black Diamond Club, where over 700+ members are in there strong, supporting each other, networking, and learning the same methodologies Shawn and Lacey used to scale their multiple businesses (Note: I recently joined Black Diamond Club just two months ago to see what all the hoopla was about, and honestly, they over-deliver, and just being part of the network and community is well worth the price).
In this episode, we get into:
✅ The difference between a business owner & entrepreneur
✅ The importance of having a conviction stronger than your desire to please
✅ The Pendulum Effect, how 2023 is the mark of entering a 'WE' culture
✅ How to create a winning money mindset
✅ Shawn's favorite Brad Lea story
✅ How dodging bullets in Costa Rica led to business success
Go follow Shawn and Lacey on social media and see if The Black Diamond Club is right for you.

I sat down with Connor Boyack and Elijah Stanfield, the creators of the hit children's book series, "The Tuttle Twins," to talk about their latest book, releasing July 4th, 2023, America's History, Volume 2 continues the adventure of American history, with some really exciting events happening in 1776 and beyond! This book covers the Revolutionary War, the creation of the Constitution, and the ratification of the Bill of Rights. Go beyond the superficial history tidbits found in other history books for kids, and help the little ones in your life learn more deeply from the ideas of America’s founding!
Connor and Elijah created the Tuttle Twins series because for too long, parents have been at the mercy of professional curriculum developers to instruct their children. History is watered down, key principles omitted altogether, and time and attention given to things of lesser importance. Freedom-loving parents have long been left alone to shoulder the burden of educating their children and passing down a love of liberty.
While there are many books to teach these ideas to adults, there has been a profound void in the children’s literature market. The Tuttle Twins series closes the gap, helping parents convey the principles of freedom to their kids in a fun way.
Each of their books focuses on a different aspect of the principles of a free society: free markets, competition, individual rights, the non-aggression principle, personal responsibility, protectionism, and a variety of other issues—all boiled down to core concepts that children of different ages can easily grasp.
Lindsey Elmore is a former pharmacist turned holistic health practitioner and wellness brand builder. Lindsey tells her story of prescribing people pills over and over again, but just watching them get sicker. On top of that, she started to learn that many of these pills weren't tested properly.
We get into the dangers of statins and how after being a pharmacist for almost 10 years, she was unaware of the mitochondrial damage being done by statins, but yet in Japan this was common knowledge, so they prescribed CoQ10 alongside statins to prevent mitochondrial damage.
Since leaving and moving to a more holistic side of medicine, she's partnered with health/wellness brands that she aligns with and helps build them and scale. Right now, Lindsey has partnered with Amare, a Mental Wellness company focused on supplements that alter the gut microbiome in a positive way to influence the brain.Â
We also cover the 8 root causes of disease and what to do about them, wellness made simple, and how to look for good quality supplements and think as a pharmacist would.
The future of healthcare is not government insurance programs. Right now, if you go to the doctors, they are overwhelmed and spend time about 10 minutes with patients before rushing to the next patient. They typically only treat your symptoms and never dive deep into the root causes of your health problems. They also hide behind the guise of "insurance codes" and charge astronomical prices and hidden fees for certain procedures that could potentially leave people broke. Worse, people like myself actually believed that having insurance meant I was getting the best prices for medical procedures, not realizing that if I simply went to private hospitals and paid cash, I would not only get better quality care, but a way cheaper price.
Shawn Needham is the author of in Sickened: How the Government Ruined Healthcare and How to Fix It. We dive into the book and ways that you can escape the government insurance programs, but still ensure that you won't be gouged by ridiculous prices, and receive top-quality care. If you want to learn Shawn’s 6-Step framework go grab it.
Shawn and his wife Janet, (also a pharmacist) own Moses Lake Professional Pharmacy, is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Washington School of Pharmacy, and teaches the Advanced Compounding Course. He has spoken on topics across the nation from hormone replacement, to innovative pain therapies, and marketing a pharmacy. Shawn has a passion for helping patients achieve optimum health via hormone balancing and nutrition.
Shawn believes the movement toward natural, proactive health is already in motion. It's time to educate those around us that there IS a better way to achieve the best health of our lives... at an AFFORDABLE investment. The best health insurance we have is not something we can buy in a policy. The best health insurance we have is taking care of ourselves.
