In today's episode I'm joined by Carl, also know on Instagram as fighting_the_dadbod. Carl is an army veteran, fundraiser, runner and interviewer.
I met Carl recently through ClubHouse and after looking at his instagram had to get him onto the podcast.
He's done a variety of amazing challenges including 20 marathons in 2020, 10 marathons in 10 days, climbed the height of Everest on his staircase, ran a marathon on his driveway and has run plenty of time head to toe in pink raising money for Breast Cancer Now.
I honestly believe you'll feel inspired, wowed and intrigued after this conversation!
Carl has done some extraordinary things in such a short amount of time and you'll leave this conversation feeling like you need to make a difference too.
Now that James is coming onboard a little more at The Running Hub HQ, we thought it was the perfect time to do a bit more of an intro to James and his running background.
We chatted through how he got into running, his first marathon experience and what he now loves so much about running. We went on to chat about his role in The Running Hub and how he's going to make an impact when coming onboard.

In today's episode we're joined by Matt and Jen, two finishers of the recent Thames Path 100 mile race.
Matt and Jen are members of the Redway Runners in Milton Keynes and they shared with us a little about their running journey so far, what motivated them to sign up to this race and a little bit more about their training journey.
We spoke about how they trained for this event, how far they went in training and how to fuel for long distance events.
This is a fantastic conversation and perfect for anyone who's looking at running an ultra marathon maybe in the future.
In todays episode we're joined by Jake Smith, an up and coming GB athlete at the tender age of just 23.
He catapulted onto the scene in March 2020 when he came third at the big half and qualified to run at the World Half where he went on to run the 3rd fastest time in UK history.
He ran a marathon recently where he was just due to pace and drop out with a few laps to go, however, ran the whole way and got an olympic qualifying time without even setting out to do so.
Jake is aiming to qualify for the Olympics in the 10000m event and at such a young age in Athletics, he's a very promising athlete.
Jake seems like he has all the right traits to take him all the way!

We spoke about her current injury and how she's overcoming not being able to run as it's been over 18 months! She shared her London Marathon training journey and race day experience as it was quite a difficult one. We went on to speak about gratitude, positivity and being thankful as Natalie has such a fab energy.
Hope you enjoy this episode, just as much as I did recording it!
