"My husband and I have been married for about 16 years. About 5 years ago some infidelities were discovered. We started going through the process of healing or what we thought was healing. We went through a repentance process with our church. We saw a family counselor a few times and over the course of the year we went through that process. At the end the people at church told us we were good and our therapist told us, 'Everything is great, You're fixed'. So we went along with life. About a year after that I made some discoveries that my husband was headed down that same path again. Taking steps that we're going to put him right in the path again. And I realized we needed more help. something was really wrong. Because after we had been through the repentance process... I realized that it didn't fix everything and that's when I realized we needed more help. Luckily we stumbled upon Ashlynn and the podcast and that got us started and I was able to reach out to Brannon, who fortunately directed us to Tyler. So Tyler is our therapist. That's been about four years ago since the process started. I would say most things are really doing well except for we are struggling with our sexual life. I feel like my husband is so afraid of going back to those behaviors that he's kind of shut that part of himself down, just doesn't want to go there. I don't think he thinks it's as big a problem as I do but that's kind of where we're at."

"Basically, how do you feel comfortable naked again after knowing your partner was into pornography? After he has made fun of your body cause he was so sick in the head he couldn't imagine a "normal" body as being ok. He has changed so much, but my mind is having a hard time accepting the fact he doesn't think like that anymore. I understand the whole victim thing and I'm sure 80% of it is that. But how can I look in the mirror and not compare my body and cry because it's not what men want and desire? Feel comfortable in lingerie? Not sickened by it. I could go on... Ha! But I won't."

Ty answers 3 core questions about betrayal in a relationship. #1: "Help for the betrayed! How to forgive the spouse who is working to change after disclosure, how to help the relationship heal as well as your hurt heart, how to know if spouse has told all the truth...etc."
#2: "How do I tell if I am too independent, distant, or avoidant in my marriage? How can I tell if my spouse is too codependent, needy, or anxiously attached? I feel really comfortable with where our relationship is at, but my husband feels our relationship leaves much to be desired. How does one start a conversation with their spouse about them being too needy or too cold and distant? What can we do to have a more balanced and healthy attachment, and what does that look like in a marriage relationship?"
#3: "What are the steps to be taken in order to have a full disclosure? What are your recommendations?"

Husband: "I've had a problem with pornography most of my growing up life... I thought that the problem would go away when I was married... I hid it for a while and then I found that I had to come clean to my wife. I didn't know what betrayal trauma was. The church leaders... don't know a lot about about betrayal and how that works on a on a spouse. And you know and there's just a lot of things they would do to help me but then I think my wife just really felt forgotten."
Wife: "I feel like no one quite grasps the magnitude of what was happening in our lives. Like it wasn't just singular acts of acting out. It was the gaslighting and all the hiding and manipulation. I almost went through a grieving process of losing what I thought our marriage was and not realizing that my reality of my life wasn't what I thought. So I felt like our life had this big puzzle piece that was just missing and we didn't know what it was. I didn't know where to go and who would get help from... A big question that would have saved us years in the process is how our church leaders could have helped me and being betrayed and where they could have pointed us to grow?"

"Ever since I was a kid, I wanted a girlfriend. I always had stress about who I would marry one day. It's been on my mind since I was about 4. Growing up, middle school and high school were very difficult for me. I was behind everybody else. I was home schooled and social normality was foreign to me...I was very much immature and struggled with relationships my entire life and only recently came out and admitted that I am in fact a sex addict. I've just been trying to learn more about that and how I can lead a more healthy normal life and get control over the compulsion. How do I deal with this never ending compulsion to marry, to settle down, to find a partner to share my life with and not be so crippled and broken when that doesn't happen or it doesn't go my way?"

"What if your honesty triggers their shame? How do you share honesty when they can't handle it?"
"Like many couples health is always a big topic in my marriage. My husband has a past where he was shamed for his weight and I don’t want to contribute to that shame. However, I really want him to take better care of himself and be more active. What’s a good approach for me to bring this topic up with my husband without bringing in shame/guilt?"

"I was raised conservative christian and now my views are very much not what they were, but my family still thinks they are the same. I struggle with guilt and am terrified to tell my family that I am no longer part of that church or following their teachings as it will really hurt them (they believe this is the only way to be saved). How can I find my way to my own spirituality? How can I tell them? Do I tell them? If I do, how do I handle the backlash of telling them? How do I stop feeling guilty? Please help!"

"I recognize within myself that when the topic of femininity comes up, it hits me sideways. It is just kind of triggering. That word. I don't know what to do with it, for me and I think for a lot of women. I don't know if it is the definition itself or What Is REAL Femininity? Is it safe? and if so, how do I Nurture it in my life?"

"My husband and I are trying to rebuild our marriage after his emotional affair. I believe the emotional affair was also physical, but he can't bring himself to confess it. He says he's committed to being transparent in our marriage now, but I don't think he wants to be transparent about the affair. It makes me feel stuck in our recovery. He feels too much detail would be detrimental, but I see it as necessary. I don't want all the details, just truth about the extent of the affair. Do I just wait for him to be ready?"

I've heard of something called a Battle Plan? What is it and How Do I Make One? I'm trying to stop a pornography addiction that started in my life at an early age and has gotten worse. I want to be closer to my family and friends instead of isolating myself. How do I do that?
