The Power of Paliuni/ Palihansiap 1-1~1-4
1-4 Reclaiming My Name and Identity
I decided to make this special series because this year, I joined the 2026 Indigenous Talent for International Affairs Program(2026年原住民族國際事務人才培訓), hosted by Taiwan’s Council of Indigenous Peoples(原民會), as one of the lecturers.
The title of my talk was “The Power of Paliuni/Palihsiap.”
So basically, this series is adapted from the speech I gave at the program. I’ve reorganized and recorded parts of what I shared that day.
If you’re interested in hearing what I said to young Indigenous participants at the Indigenous Talent for International Affairs Program, I hope you’ll join me for this series.
I usually record in Mandarin, but this is a special English series, and it’s been a long time since I last did an episode in English.
In this series, I’ll be sharing a little about my identity and background, as well as some of the work I’ve been doing through social media in recent years—especially around Indigenous education for everyone and the importance of Indigenous people telling our own stories in our own voices.
我當時的演講題目是 「The Power of Paliuni/Palihsiap」。
Paliuni means talking about.
And Palihansiap is more about sharing and exchanging knowledge. It’s about people coming together, talking, listening, and learning from one another.
So why did I choose this topic?
Because I’ve really experienced the power of conversation.
