Dr. Karin Anderson Abrell is a psychology professor turned self-help author who spent 27 years on the dating scene.
She had her first boyfriend at 15, called off her first engagement at 34 and didn’t get married until she was 42.
Karin first became interested in writing about dating and relationships when reflecting on her own engagement. Although she loved her fiancé, she wasn’t “in love”. Despite being perfect on paper, she realised marrying him would be settling so she called off the wedding just two months prior to when it was meant to take place.
She wrote 'Single is the New Black: Don’t wear White ‘Til It’s Right' to empower singles, encouraging them to remain strong amidst “Single Shaming”, stay true to themselves and never settle for anything less than an extraordinary relationship.
To all my Modern Women: If ever you have questioned whether you’re in the right relationship, or stayed in the wrong relationship out of fear of ending up on your own or that you’re running out of time to start a family, then this is the episode for you!
