125: 🛑 Stop Victim Blaming 🛑

Listen Later

TRIGGER WARNING: Victim blaming, sexual assault, domestic violence

Victim blaming occurs when the victim of a crime is held partially or fully responsible for the actions taken against them. It is particularly prevalent when it comes to domestic violence and sexual assault. The impacts on victims are often long-term and have devastating consequences. It is also one of the reasons victims keep things to themselves, stay in dangerous situations, and decide not to report.

Victim blaming needs to stop. As part of the Ex-Philes commitment to Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I am partnering up with my good friend Christine to talk about the victim blaming that we have experienced, the impacts it had on our lives, and how YOU can become part of the solution instead of the problem.

👉Take a stand! Please share this episode on social media this month to help raise awareness about the impacts of victim blaming.
