Alec Benjamin didn’t find music until high school, but once he did his life was forever changed. He shares several stories of how he first discovered that his brain worked a little differently and how as a result, trying to fit into the system that society has setup has not come easy. Once he learned to open up through his music, a whole new set of mental health struggles came about: navigating life on tour, dealing with immediate audience feedback, and constantly facing the pressure of success. The Lautners and Alec talk about how exercise and therapy are two tools that they all turn to in order to manage their mental health. Plus, the Lautners hear how OCD affects Alec’s day to day, the surprising cover song you won’t be able to find online, and how he came up with his new song: I Sent My Therapist To Therapy.
