Confidence is a muscle we all have to work on all of the time. It’s a lifelong battle as we age, face challenges, and enter new stages of life. We believe that confidence starts from within and we challenge you to think about your current level of self-esteem. Are you avoiding events because of how you look? We start the episode by catching up on Allison and Ceara’s recent travels. Allison took a 10-day solo road trip to the southwest and is starting the 75 Hard program. Ceara went to the Lake of the Ozarks for a girl’s weekend trip and is heading to Cabo to shoot a wedding. We often find ourselves in cool situations and are regularly presented with incredible opportunities - mostly due to the fact that we put ourselves out there and are open to receiving the abundance.

This week we have on Megan Homme, world traveler and content creator! This week’s guest is Ceara’s amazing younger sister, McKenna. She gives us all the warm fuzzy girl talk that we’ve been needing in our lives. She’s loyal, kind, genuine, supportive, stylish and effortlessly cool. We talk about playing volleyball in college, dating a guy from the Netherlands, journaling and fashion.

Two summers ago when Ceara and Allison were in Marfa, Texas, they quite literally ran into Didi Beck on the sidewalk. They all vibed immediately and ended up getting dinner together, and have kept in touch ever since! Didi is actually a native Jamaican but visited Omaha this week to stay at Allison’s.

Allison’s boyfriend Clay joins her this week so listeners can learn more about who they are as a couple. The two met in high school, even though they lived just a few streets apart and went to the same elementary school. After not seeing each other for over five years, they rekindled one day and have been inseparable ever since.

A lot has happened in the few years they’ve been dating - months of long-distance, backpacking in South America, living out of the car and suitcases while road tripping across the US, graduating, moving in together, career changes, and building their young adult life. Allison lives a pretty public life with social media, New Wave, and the podcast. Clay, on the other hand, is more private so this is a rare chance to get to know him and the behind-the-scenes of their relationship.

Allison takes the lead on this week’s episode to share all the behind-the-scenes about her small business. New Wave is a unique retail concept hidden on the second floor in Omaha, Nebraska that opened in June 2020. As the store comes up on one year of business, Allison thought this was the perfect time to reflect on what it has been like owning a store in the midst of a particularly uncertain year.

The episode starts off with the backstory of how New Wave came to be, the idea behind the brand, and all the planning and research that went into opening a store. She dives into the real stuff that business owners usually avoid talking about - failures, low points, mental health, balancing work and personal life, finances, and how to get through it all.
