This week on Another Triathlon Podcast Jenna-Caer , Josh and Fede break down one of the most chaotic races we have seen in a long time. T100 Dubai was meant to be a quieter weekend after Marbella, but instead delivered missed laps, misdirected athletes, and a finish line no one really understood in real time.
The crew starts with a quick catch up. Josh takes his first full week completely off training in years and lines up 2025 race plans. Fede paces a half marathon and starts plotting a path to Nice. Jenna Caer shares what it was like on the ground at 70.3 Worlds in Marbella, from wild crowd energy to brands stepping up with big activations.
Then it is all Dubai. The front group missing the T2 turn, Hayden Wilde riding an extra lap, officials sending athletes to the finish early, and only four men actually completing the full bike and run distance. The team digs into how the athlete vote decided the final result, why this is really a trust issue for the series, and what T100 has to fix heading into Qatar.
The episode also gives the women’s race its due, with Julie Derron’s dominant win, Kate Waugh’s consistency, and Jess Learmonth’s podium all setting up a wide open title fight in Qatar with one and a half points on the line.
They wrap with a quick look at Ironman Arizona, from Menno Koolhaas flying in the Mauna V21 trisuit to Kona slots, retirements, and Sam Long juggling new baby timing with race rules.
Highlights
• T100 Dubai: missed T2, extra laps, misdirected runners
• Only four athletes going full distance and the athlete vote on results
• Trust, money, and season rankings on the line for pros
• Julie Derron, Kate Waugh and Jess Learmonth setting up a huge Qatar finale
• Ironman Arizona recap, Kona slots and late season storylines

The T100 season is about to look very different. In this episode, Jenna-Caer (@jennacaer) and Josh (@joshmvernon), sit down with PTO CEO Sam Renouf to unpack the biggest changes coming to the T100 Triathlon World Tour and what they mean for pros, age-groupers, and the sport’s future.
Highlights
From contracts to prize money:
Sam explains why the PTO is shifting away from athlete contracts to a fully merit-based model and how that opens the door for new athletes through rankings and performance.
Nine-race global calendar:
The 2025 T100 season will feature nine events, alternating men’s and women’s races, with a grand final in Qatar. Sam shares why the PTO chose this structure and what it means for fairness, broadcast quality, and athlete recovery.
Why split the men and women’s races:
A shorter four-hour race window means better TV placement, improved storytelling, fewer road closures, and more spectator engagement — all designed to make triathlon easier to follow and more exciting to watch.
Olympic ambitions:
Long-term goal of seeing the 100 km distance become part of the Olympic Games, aligning the T100 with the broader world-sport model.
Investing in the future:
Sam breaks down the PTO’s new funding partners and how those investments will help grow triathlon globally — from elite racing to mass-participation events.
Data and storytelling:
Expect more live metrics, improved GPS accuracy, and enhanced on-screen analytics. Sam discusses why real-time data is the key to turning triathlon into a broadcast-ready product that rivals Formula One.
Age-group racing redefined:
The PTO wants to retire the term “age-grouper” altogether. Sam talks about elevating the amateur experience, long-term city partnerships, and what made Vancouver one of their most successful events yet.
Looking ahead:
Could a U.S. race be returning to the calendar? Sam leaves us with a hint that the largest triathlon market in the world might not be left out for long.
Listen to the full conversation for an inside look at how the PTO plans to grow triathlon from a niche endurance sport to a mainstream global product — and what it means for the next generation of athletes and fans.

Welcome back to Another Triathlon Podcast, brought to you by @maunaapparel
. This week, the crew dives into everything from Kona to Chicago to Wollongong.
Jenna-Caer finally breaks down her Kona 2025 race — the goggles that leaked, the sunburn that wasn’t sunscreen, and a flat tire before even hitting the Queen K. From chaos to camaraderie, she shares how pacing a teammate toward a top-10 finish turned a tough day into one of the most meaningful yet.
Meanwhile, Josh recaps his Chicago Marathon PR, sharing his full fueling plan, lessons learned from chasing the 3-hour mark, and what’s next heading into the New York City Marathon with Fede.
The team also dives deep into the WTCS Grand Final and T100 Wollongong, finding uncanny parallels between the short-course blowups and Kona’s long-course drama. Hayden Wilde’s dominance, Kate Waugh’s brilliance, and Lisa Tertsch’s clutch championship performance all take centre stage.
Plus, the crew debates T100’s new 2026 format — separate men’s and women’s races, higher prize purses, and what that means for the sport’s future.

The men’s Ironman World Championships in Nice will go down as one of the most thrilling races in triathlon history. From early drama in the swim, to Laidlow’s comeback ride, to a Norwegian sweep of the podium — this was a race that showcased the evolution of the sport.
Jenna (@jennacaer), Josh (@joshmvernon), and Fede (@fedemultisport) break it all down, then sit down with the man who built the foundation for this dominance: Arild Tveiten.
As the longtime performance director and coach for the Norwegian Triathlon Federation, Arild was there at the beginning — when Norway had no history in the sport and just 15 junior athletes. Among them were Kristian Blummenfelt, Gustav Iden, and Casper Stornes. What started as a small experiment grew into the most talked-about training system in the world: the Norwegian Method.
In this episode you’ll hear:
This isn’t just a race recap. It’s the inside story of how a coach and a group of teenagers from Norway reshaped triathlon forever.
