Understanding these thought patterns is important because it's a big part of what makes a long-term, sustainable recovery from binge eating and food addiction possible. I noticed that when people don't shift these thoughts, they relapse far more often than people who do, and they also take much longer to heal. In other words, listening to this talk has the potential to save your future self a lot of time and energy.
