In this episode of the podcast we explain how it is 100% possible and doable to end the binge cycle without a single food restriction.
We’ve noticed that while many programs and coaches also promote “no restriction”, it’s rare to see genuine delivery on this promise. For example, just the other day I saw a coach selling her program saying, “Zero food restrictions! All you have to do is eat certain foods in moderation and only at the appropriate times!”
How are “eating certain foods in moderation” and “eating only at certain times” NOT restrictions? ;-)
(By the way, we aren’t at all against people using other methods, but the point is it’s misleading for someone to promote that while introducing hidden restrictions. I don’t believe most professionals do this with bad intentions — it’s possible that some may not even have this level of awareness with their own eating, so it would be impossible for them to teach it to someone else.)
When we say zero food restrictions, we mean it. And here’s what that looks like:
- All foods are allowed, even trigger foods. There is no meal plan or rules you need to follow about what you can and can’t eat. (We’ll explain more about the nuances of how this works in the livestream itself.)
- You do not restrict your portion sizes or try to control, manipulate, count, or weigh how much you eat. Instead, you learn the natural skill of body listening so you can eat in a way that feels good, not bad.
- You don’t set rules for yourself about when you can eat or what is considered to be an “appropriate time.” Instead, you learn to listen to and trust yourself, so you don’t need to rely on someone else’s rule or prescribed schedule for you to be successful.
We recognize that very few people teach this, so we are getting more specific in what we’re talking about here in this episode of the podcast.
