This is the first of twenty minisodes where I am going to summarize what was covered in the group DBT therapy I am enrolled in. In this episode, I touch on how I was connected with my DBT program, the history of DBT, mindfulness, and wise mind.
I am looking to do a few podcast episodes discussing listener's journies through BPD diagnosis, support, stigma, success, and sup-types. If you are interested in being a part of this project please reach out via the anchor voice message function or email me at [email protected]!

This week I wanted to talk about asking for and accepting help. How previous experiences of rejection when we needed help can cause us to feel the need to be hyper independent. I also talk about my realization of how asking for and accepting help helps to build and strengthen relationships with people around us, to connect with people on a deeper level.
Keep an eye out for the DBT minisodes that I will be putting out weekly for the next 6 months while I am going through my Group DBT therapy.

This week I talk a bit about support, and filtering support, as we work through our recovery journey. I discuss two questions my therapist gave me to use when I am evaluating advice/opinions from people in my life:
1. Is this person emotionally healthy?
2. Is this person living the kind of life I want to live for myself?
I also want to give a shout-out to my friend and fellow podcaster (and one of the people who challenges me in my road to recovery daily) Dallas over at Critical Podcast https://open.spotify.com/show/0EyLslxK5rwA6dvYc2Krv4?si=KQG-D3zVQXi4ospm5gd7cw&dl_branch=1.

This week I discuss my month-long hiatus, a recent episode, reviewing and reevaluating my moral compass and self-compassion. It is an anecdotal approach, raw, unscripted and me just allowing myself to be vulnerable. To be me.
I will be back to the more scripted and researched episodes soon. But I hope you find something you can relate to in this episode.

This week's episode is a short one, but an important one. I will admit I have been having a rough few weeks. And this episode is just as much of a reminder to myself, as it is for anyone out there listening. Struggling is a normal part of the human experience - don't beat yourself up over it.
