We are often motivated to people please and sacrifice our own time, comfort, energy, and even happiness from a place of lack. It also comes from a place of not loving and respecting ourselves fully, which can never lead to vibrant, mutually supportive relationships. 

There is hope in the knowledge that people pleasing can be un-learned. We can always discover and adopt new ways of showing up for ourselves and others. 

Remember, when we put ourselves first the rest falls into place. These affirmations are powerful messages to help you internalize how important and safe it is to do so.

I encourage you to listen once a day while you work to turn a corner on your process. I will read each twice, giving you time in between to say each to yourself. 

It’s safe for me to set boundaries with myself and others

I love expressing myself 

My time and energy are worth protecting

I confidently communicate

I am striving to learn what being authentic means to me

I love showing people different parts of myself 

It is good to take time to make decisions 

My friendships are best when I show up as myself 

I surround myself with strong, capable people

I am a strong, capable person 

I am capable and worthy of love and respect

I allow others to see my authentic self and enjoy doing the same
