This is Laura James. She got diagnosed with autism at age 45.And she is not alone. In fact 80 % of autistic girls remain undiagnosed.But, boys are not. In comparison to boys, girls on the spectrum remain unrecognized, suffer mental health issues and do not receive treatment.Why does this discrepancy exist?- Today we will uncover the untold story behind autism- We will expose the shocking consequences the gender gap causes- Understand why so many autistic girls and women fly under the radar- And we will reveal the actual true rate of autism in womenDuring my research, I found out, the topic is deeply rooted in society, the economy and history. But there is a golden path that we can follow towards a better future for everyone on the spectrum.
