New Year’s resolutions, weddings, reunions...all too often many of us look for a “quick fix” when we start to feel guilty after weeks of indulging, or a big event. For many of us, we might lead us to a juice cleanse - but, the consequences might not be worth the short term hopes.
In this episode, Jon and Megan break down the realities of a short, or long, term juice cleanse and how you can still get some of the benefits without the consequences - ensuring that you not only achieve your weight loss or health goals, but set the stage for long term success.
It happened, the “New Year” is now a reality and as we shake off thefog of all the Holiday sweets and treats diving into a full-blown NewYear’s Resolution May seem a bit daunting. Don’t worry, in this episode Jon and Megan share some simple tips andtricks - that you can use today - to help you build some greatmomentum while you take some time to be easy on yourself and ease intoa healthier January.
In this episode Jon and Megan close out the first year of the show with some of their favorite resources for food and health inspiration. As we take a look at the year ahead, we talk about some of the people, places, books, TV Shows, films websites, etc… that have lit a spark for how they approach what we eat or how we prepare it in hopes that maybe some will provide some inspiration for you to take into the next year as well.
This time of year is stressful enough, and navigating the myriad of items on supermarket shelves doesn’t help matters much either: How much sodium is too much sodium? Does this have enough protein? Are these red berries safe to eat?
The saying goes that “America runs on Dunkin’,” and it appears to be a fairly accurate statement when you consider there are more than 10,000 Dunkin’ Donuts locations in the U.S. and a whopping 60 percent of their annual revenue comes from coffee. (Sugar-filled donuts don’t tend to be major energy boosters, after-all…)

Thanksgiving, or perhaps you’re more fond of referring to it as “Turkey Day.” But really, that’s a misnomer; because with the exception of that big bird in the middle of the table, everything else you’ll be eating—from mashed potatoes and stuffing to creamed corn, glazed carrots and pecan pie—it should come as no surprise that the average American will consume 4,500 calories on Thanksgiving - 3,000 of those at dinner!
Few cooking tools are as convenient and versatile as the slow cooker—especially if you don’t have hours to spend stirring at the stove. After all, what’s better than throwing a bunch of ingredients in a pot, walking away, and returning several hours later to find a hot, delicious meal ready and waiting for you?
