How To Cut It in the Hairdressing Industry

EP077: Sally Brooks – What It Means to be the Current British Hairdresser of the Year

Listen Later

Today you’re in for a treat – we’re about to know what it means to be the current British Hairdresser of the Year.

I’m joined by one of the most exciting hairdressers of our generation and the 2017 British Hairdresser of the Year, Sally Brooks. Today you’ll learn all about the story of how Sally’s dedication and commitment to her profession has led her to the ultimate accolade in hairdressing, and what this massive responsibility now means to her.

With more than 25 years’ experience, Sally is the co-founder of award-winning London salon, Brooks & Brooks, with partner Jamie Brooks. If you’re someone who is serious about the hair industry, you should know of Sally and the impact she is having on British hairdressing. She and Jamie pride themselves on finding, seeing and developing up-and-coming hairdressers. And now as British Hairdresser of the Year, Sally is taking this prestigious title and responsibility seriously by promoting the hair industry in the positive light that it should be and all the many opportunities that it can offer.

Sally’s conversation is one that I highly recommend that you all take note of. It’s the perfect story to how a local village girl has risen to the top of the hair industry, working alongside some of the best on the way, and widely credited with Jamie Brooks on producing hairdressings new stars such as Darcie Harvey, Grace Dalglish and one of hairdressings biggest names, Sophia Hilton.

With the British Hairdressing Awards 2018 just one week away and Sally up for nomination again, I’m confident to know that if she is to win the title again, it will be in very good hands for another year. So let’s get to it and tune-in to todays fantastic episode.
