How To Cut It in the Hairdressing Industry

EP100: Meet Hairdressings Everyday Foot Soldiers (and our Listeners!) – Celebrating 100 Episodes

Listen Later

I can’t believe we’re here: Episode 100! This is off the scale!

In March of 2017, my first episode of the ‘How Cut It in the Hairdressing Industry’ podcast went live. Just me, the microphone and you, I officially announced the launch of the show. Boy, I was apprehensive but equally excited to this new journey and all the weekly guests I was going interview to share their incredible insights, inspirations and information with us all.

After my first interview with the brilliant and mega talented Tom Connell was published, I could’ve never imagined the response that this episode would get. The positive feedback I got from you all was more than I could have ever imagined. I knew then that this was something that you all wanted. Or was is it?

There was a time though when I did think whether podcasting was a format that the hair industry was really ready for. Still relatively unknown in the hair industry back in 2017, I found myself regularly explaining to many what a podcast was and how it works (including those to which our show has since inspired them to start their own podcast show, which I’m delighted about). And with endless hours of me individually putting together just one episode every week, I did question if I could commit to it. But you know what? I did, and I’m so glad – it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!

Now with over 10,000 downloads per month and with many of the biggest names from the industry been interviewed for it, I’m delighted for it to be the UK’s No.1 podcast for the hair and barbering industry.

Today isn’t an interview with big name from the industry, because being 100 episodes old I wanted to bring you something special to me: hairdressings everyday foot soldiers. Joining me for this are 5 listeners of the show and hairdressers, Danielle Kennedy, Emma Marcey, Kim Goodger, Amanda Linehan and Stacey Orrow. Each will be sharing their own experiences of being on the front line of the hair industry, as I believe it’s good for us all to identify with where we come from and represent.

Lastly, before we dive in to the 100th Episode I want the opportunity to say that without you, the listener, the guests, this show wouldn’t have ever reached episode 100! I owe you so much, and it’s exactly why I’m extremely excited for the next 100 episodes of this podcast. Your support means the world to me, and I appreciate each and every one of you!
