How To Cut It in the Hairdressing Industry

EP108: Get Out of Your Comfort Zone – with Jean-Baptise Mazella of M&P (formerly Mazella and Palmer)

Listen Later

To make the best of our potential we need to get out of our comfort zone. As hairdressers with talent and knowledge it’s very easy to sit on what we know, and more dangerously, to stop learning! This can lead us to complacency and eventually becoming bored in all what we do. Don’t you agree we all owe it to both ourselves and our clients to keep our continual development growing by learning new skills and ideas?

Jean Baptise Mazella (JB), our guest this week, is one of the worlds leading hairdressing educators, and knows why it’s so important to keep on developing as a hairdresser. Many will know JB better as one half of the Mazella and Palmer education company, but recently took a rebranding build to become M&P – something that you’ll hear about later in todays interview. Having taught and worked alongside the leading hairdressers throughout the world, M&P’s technical and creative direction helps stylists globally to keep excited and engaged.

JB believes in giving fully to whatever you do, and as a result the success of this will come to all those that do. We will hear how by enhancing your creative potential through education will not only develop you by taking you outside of your comfort zone, but will also help increase your salon revenue, too.

At the end of the day, everyone needs to step out of their comfort zone, and our continual development is of course massively important to our future success. As hairdressers, we need to comitt ourselves to this path. We need to find our want, and go for it, and as JB says, “when you want to start something you have to give yourself one hundred percent.” That commitment is what makes you a great hairdresser, what stands you above your competitor, and what excites your clients. JB is so inspiring, and I hope you get as much from this episode as I did.
