There is a stark difference between genuine connection and transactional networking in the online business space. Jill made her own early career mistakes—like chasing the attention of industry figures she'd put on pedestals and hoping proximity to "bigger" names would fast-track her success—so in this episode, she shares how real growth came when she put her head down, focused on doing good work, and let results speak for themselves. Instead of chasing clout from people "ahead" of you, seek out mentors and communities where the vibe feels authentic, rather than clicky or status-driven. In short: stop waiting to be discovered or "anointed," do great work, and find people who are a "hell yes" for you. Even just a handful of real ride-or-die connections in your corner can make all the difference in an otherwise lonely entrepreneurial journey.

Everyone who runs a successful online business started at the very beginning, and that means having content that makes you cringe a little bit. The only way to truly improve at business skills like presenting, showing up on video, and launching offers is to actually do them, imperfectly and publicly. The early stages of building a business are actually the best time to stumble, since your audience is smallest and most forgiving. Not to mention, everything on the internet is deletable! So if you want to grow, you have to embrace your own "cringe archive." Say yes to the scary thing, survive it, and let the evidence of your courage compound over time into real confidence and skill.

The current state of the online fitness and wellness business landscape in 2026 is constantly changing—there are new shifts every day driven by AI, GLP-1 medications, economic uncertainty, and uncertain social media algorithms. In all the maybe, you have two distinct choices for how you run your business: the data-driven, automated "passive income" model built around low-ticket digital products, ads, and funnel optimization, versus the personal brand model grounded in genuine relationships, consistent value delivery, and audience trust. In Jill's experience, chasing passive income shortcuts often produces hollow, unsustainable businesses. While low-ticket offers and paid traffic have their place, coaches and entrepreneurs need to choose a path, and for most people, building a personal brand with real meaning and connection is not only more fulfilling, but ultimately more durable and lucrative in the long run.

Is it time for you to try a fresh spin on the traditional waitlist approach? Jill's "priority list launch" strategy is designed to build exclusivity and demand for small group coaching offers. The word "priority" signals value over simply being on a waitlist, and today, Jill breaks down the key ingredients that make this work: capped spots for built-in scarcity, specific messaging that helps the right people self-identify, price anchoring around inaugural or founding member pricing, and a multi-week runway of emails and social content leading up to cart open.

Micro solution messaging is not the same as quick fix marketing, and mastering the distinction is essential for selling your coaching offers. Using vague, broad promises like "lose weight" or "get strong" are actually hurting your sales, so you need to learn to replace them with specific, quantified outcomes that give potential buyers a clear picture of exactly what they're purchasing. Today, Jill walks you through the key litmus test for keeping your promises in integrity: ask yourself whether the outcome is sustainable and genuinely achievable for your ideal client in the timeline you're promising, and if not, adjust accordingly. A compelling, specific promise isn't a sellout, it's simply good communication that respects both your expertise and your audience's intelligence.

In this episode, Jill shares her top five non-negotiable tasks every business owner should delegate to a virtual assistant. Drawing from her own experience—starting with her mom as her first VA back in 2012—she emphasizes that hiring a VA is the first and most important team hire you can make, even if it's just a few hours a week. Any and all tasks you outsource to a VA can be systemized into templates, checklists, or scripts, making them easy to hand off without sacrificing quality—and often the person you delegate to will do them better than you would yourself.

If you want to convert your followers into paying clients, you have to be able to communicate the necessity of your services. Today Jill breaks down three types of marketing: pro-marketing (highlighting your deliverables and social proof), urgency marketing (showing what gets worse if someone delays action), and the main focus of this episode, anti-marketing—a two-part strategy where you first position yourself as distinct within your space (by being clear about who you are not), then nullify all the alternative paths your ideal client might take instead of hiring you. Jill also covers self-identification marketing (defining two or three specific client types so prospects immediately recognize themselves), making offers more irresistible through bonuses or results guarantees, and developing a signature methodology that sets your program apart, all in service of the bigger goal: building enough demand that your ideal client sees your offer as the one logical, necessary next step.

Sales don't have to be sleazy and they don't have to be difficult, either. In this episode, Jill breaks down four essential diagnostics that will make your sales conversations more effective and help you close with confidence. Successful selling is really about helping prospects make sense of their situation by giving them an alternative worldview—one that explains why they've struggled and why a new approach could work. The four clarity points are: (1) identifying what your prospective client is struggling with; (2) helping them understand how they got there; (3) painting a clear picture of where they want to go; and (4) presenting a confident, step-by-step roadmap to get them there. A well-articulated plan creates a sense of safety and organization that makes saying yes feel natural, and combining genuine conviction with detachment from the outcome is what separates coaches who close consistently from those who don't.

There are internet business coaches claiming that freebies are dead—are they? While freebies are evolving in use, they remain a vital tool for building a legacy business. When something, like a freebie, isn't working, it's usually a messaging or skill issue rather than a sign that the strategy itself is obsolete. Long-term relationship building leads to higher lifetime customer value, which is why freebies will always have utility.

In this episode, Jill breaks down a content strategy combining Instagram carousels with ManyChat automations to drive opt-ins for freebies and lead magnets. Carousels are gaining traction on Instagram right now, and to help you capitalize on potential growth, Jill outlines a four-part storytelling framework—before picture, bridge/decision, after picture, and call to action—designed to lead viewers naturally toward downloading a freebie by the final slide. When you reverse-engineer a story from the desired opt-in, you can make an argument that gets your audience to think, "I could do that too!"
