  • Video: How Puerto Ricans are coping in aftermath of Hurricane Maria
Hurricane Maria left a trail of devastation on Puerto Rico when it made landfall more than two weeks ago. Much of the US territory remains without electricity or running water. The extent of the destruction - coupled with accusations that Washington wasn't doing enough to help - prompted US President Donald Trump to visit the island, where he promised much-needed financial and material aid. Our correspondent went to some of the hardest-hit areas to find out how locals are coping. A programme prepared by Florence Viala and Jessica Sestili

  • Philippines: Battle to retake Marawi from IS group leaves a ghost town
For the past four months, fighting has been raging in Marawi, a city on the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines. It's the longest and deadliest battle to date against the Islamic State group in southeast Asia. The conflict is now entering its final stages, but it will take a long time to heal the city's wounds. Our correspondents report. A programme prepared by Florence Viala and Jessica Sestili

  • How Benin's morgues are causing a public health crisis
In this edition we head to the West African country of Benin. Some 2,000 corpses are believed to be stored in unhygienic conditions in morgues across the country. Our reporters investigate a situation that's causing a public health crisis. Warning: Some viewers may find the footage in this report distressing.

  • Indian authorities accused of rewriting history textbooks
Since the election of Narendra Modi as Indian prime minister three years ago, Hindu far-right groups have increased their influence. In recent months, the ruling BJP party has even decided to change the content of school textbooks and tests. The party is accused of rewriting history in a bid to make India an entirely Hindu nation and erase the influences of other religions. This comes despite the Indian constitution seeing secularism as a fundamental principle. Our correspondents report. A programme prepared by Florence Viala and Jessica Sestili

Our reporters look at why France is lagging behind when it comes to treating autism and how things could change. A programme prepared by Van Meguerditchian and Jessica Sestili

Catalan leaders are pushing ahead with the vote in defiance of a ban by the central government in Madrid. • Mob justice on the rise in Indonesia
Vigilante violence is on the rise in Indonesia. Many perceive the police to be ineffective in responding to petty crime and decide to take the law into their own hands. But the violence is not just reserved for criminals. Some members of Indonesia's religious and ethnic minorities have been victimized by the country's Sunni Muslim majority, with the authorities often siding in favour of the mob. Our correspondent reports. Warning: This report contains violent images.

  • Security in France: Some local police officers now carrying pistols
Since November 29, 2016, France's local police have been allowed to carry semi-automatic 9 mm pistols, just like their counterparts from the national police force. This decision was taken following the July 2016 terror attack in Nice, in which 86 people lost their lives. But some local police forces, such as those in the western city of Nantes, have decided not to follow the trend. Our colleagues at France 2 report. A programme prepared by Patrick Lovett and Florence Viala.

Meanwhile, on the outskirts of the capital Kigali, a new "Innovation City" is being built. Our correspondent reports. A programme prepared by Patrick Lovett.

  • Judicial reforms: Polish government on collision course with EU
Poland’s president has unveiled new proposals for an overhaul of the country’s judicial system. For the European Union, the proposals serve as critical pointers of whether Warsaw plans to adhere to rule-of-law standards. In July, the Polish leader unexpectedly vetoed the country's first proposed overhaul after they triggered nationwide protests and raised international concerns about political interference in the country’s courts. Gulliver Cragg reports from Warsaw.
