For the month of March, we wanted to focus on March Mindfulness!
In this fast moving paced world with so many distractions, we thought we'd dive deeper into ways we can be more present in our lives. There may be times especially experiencing betrayal trauma where you have felt that if you could do or be more, it would get easier. In the coming episodes, we'll learn that slowing down, breathing, really honing into our emotions, and where they are in our bodies can help us move forward. We will be having guests Carrie Skarda and Dallin Bruun who will help us understand how we can be more mindful in our lives. It can become a very helpful tool and coping mechanism, but it is not a solution to the problem.
Carrie Skarda is a co-author of a book called "The Power of Stillness". She talks about our relationship with God and prayer. With Dallin, he specifically does a guided meditation to help us become more familiar with them.
We hope you are excited for this upcoming month of mindfulness and our guests who will be joining us! Please listen in for ideas of how to be more mindful!

We are back with Emily Sanchez for Part 2 on Shooting for the Stars! This week we are discussing the topic of divorce, as that has been requested by a lot of our listeners. If you would like to read more about Emily, you can do that here in Part 1's description.
In this episode, we start off by talking about how to get comfortable with being single after divorce. Emily helps us to consider the idea in our head that we only have one chance on this earth to marry the "right" person. She references Genesis that alludes to us being whole as we are. At times, we may forget that we still can be happy even when we are not married to someone. We may still feel the uncomfortable pressures of the cultural feeling, family first, but Emily reminds us that this is truly where the Saviors ministry took place. When you feel like the outcast, He is there.
Emily also encourages us to ask ourselves the question, "Who do I want to become, and how do I want to live?" When starting to date again or looking for a job after divorcing, we have the choice whether to make it a good experience or to focus on the bad. She says, "This is given to you, choose it. There can be power in accepting."
Some may wonder is divorce the right choice? Will my spouse choose recovery later? Emily has implemented the OEC: Options, evaluations, and consequences to help us really determine this. Listen in if you'd like to learn more.

We have Emily Sanchez on the podcast with us today! Emily Romney Sanchez grew up in a competitive environment and was taught to achieve goals and succeed from her parents and coaches in music and sports through college. Those coaches inspired her to become a life coach as a way to continually grow, reach higher and motivate others. Her experience started early as she spoke throughout Arizona on education issues and domestic violence. Through her divorce and single parenthood she managed two different insurance agencies. After remarrying, she finished her Bachelors degree from NAU and completed training and certification through Strategic Intervention, Robbins/Madanes training, APSATS, IFS and is currently pursuing her master's degree in social work from WNMU. She is a Divorce Coach who works with distinguished family law attorney, Kevin Jensen, offering seminars and coaching. She is supported by an amazing husband, Yasser Sanchez, and 5 children. You can find her on Facebook, Instagram and Apple Podcasts as ldsdivorcecoach.
In this episode, we discuss how to start to shoot for the stars and see our higher self even while experiencing betrayal trauma. We look into why we may struggle with this starting with our society and past. To get out of these meaning frames, Emily encourages us to question our core beliefs. "What do you desire?" As you dive deeper, you may receive retaliation from your spouse or others when bringing up a desire you have. It may be uncomfortable, but you will find that it fills up your core and self respect.
Emily also reminds us that if we are not in a place to do this, to give ourselves grace.
Please listen in next week for Part 2 as we go more into the topic of divorce!

Back today with another in our analogy series, and this one is called the Tennis Ball analogy! We want to credit this one to Natalie Hoffman who has written a blog post about it called "How Will You Know Your Marriage is Over?" that we will link below in the show notes.
In this episode, we are going to go over how Natalie explains this analogy and how it might apply to our life. For a moment, let's pretend that your relationship is like a game of tennis. The ball is going back and forth between you and your spouse. Once in awhile the ball drops, which may represent relationship conflict. When it drops on your side, you pick up the ball and resolve the conflict. Sometimes, it drops on your spouse's side, but you find that he may not want to pick it up. So what do you do? You go over to his side and pick up the ball because you want the game to keep going. Please listen in to find ways of how this might apply to your relationship! You may find that this analogy usually captures the question, "Should I stay, or should I go?"

We are back today with Part 2 about getting to our why's about divorce with Roxanne Granata!
Last week, we discussed our why's about staying and how to navigate that. If you missed this episode, please see show notes to listen in as there are insights for staying and divorcing as well.
In this episode, we are talking more about moving into separation and possibly divorce and what that might look like. One question Roxanne encourages us to ask ourselves to think more about is "Do I feel more peaceful being separated/distancing myself than I do when we're together?" She tells us that trusting our gut will help guide us through these decisions, but that choice does not need to be made immediately. There also may be some fear of the possibilities after divorce, but she also gives experiences of the change that might result because of that decision.
Please listen in for insights of the decision of divorce and thoughts/ideas of how to navigate that. Ultimate question: What is the life you want to have and experience?

We are back today as promised with a new episode with the lovely Roxanne Granata! Roxanne is a betrayal trauma coach, the author of Cutting Ties, the host of the Choose In Podcast and a speaker and advocate helping others move through trauma and other life problems and on to a happy and healing life. She has been divorced and now remarried for the past 2 years. Together they have 7 children and one grandbaby. Roxanne has graciously accepted to come on to discuss the topic of divorce, as that as been highly requested by you, our listeners.
In this episode, we discuss the why's of staying in a marriage. Roxanne informs us that there might be two common reasons why we may fear the thought of divorce and helps us to recognize some underlying feelings that might be associated with these. If we choose to stay, there may be some "poisonous" behaviors present that we may need to watch out for. She gives us a few examples, as well as ideas of how to keep ourselves safe and healthy.
Next week we will be back with part 2 on the "why's of divorce" and we hope you'll listen in as both give great insights!

Re-releasing Part 2 of our interview with Dr. Jill Manning!
This episode is in response to a listener question on how to set boundaries. In the previous episode we addressed what boundaries are, what they are not, and how to set them. In this episode we will be discussing barriers to boundaries, reasons why we have a hard time setting and keeping boundaries, and how to overcome these barriers.
The quicker that we can learn to be effective in identifying, finding, setting boundaries, and forcing and upholding those when, and if they are violated, will be a gift to healing for both people. We are not suggesting the person setting boundaries is responsible for both people's healing paths, but it will have a positive effect on the whole family.
We are grateful to have Dr. Jill Manning, Ph.D., LMFT, CCPS, CCTP, BC-TMH with us to discuss the topic of boundaries. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in working with individuals impacted by betrayal trauma in their primary relationship.
Over the last 20 years, her academic and clinical work has been featured in numerous peer review journals. Television programs, TV shows, magazine articles, including the Oprah magazine. She is a former social science fellow at the heritage foundation in Washington, DC. And while she was in that role, she testified before the US Senate subcommittee about the harms of pornography on the family.
She currently serves on the board of directors and the advisory council for Fight The New Drug. She is a native of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and currently lives in Colorado with her husband and two daughters. Thank you for sharing you time and expertise with us Dr. Manning.

To start off the year, we are re-releasing this episode with Jill Manning on Boundaries! We will be back in 2 weeks with a new podcast for you with Roxanne Granata!
During our healing journey we hear how important boundaries are, but how do we know what boundaries we need and then how do we set them in our relationships?
This episode is in response to a listener question on how to set boundaries. This can be a really difficult concept for some people to understand, especially if you haven't been used to setting them. It's one of the key components related to our healing , especially if we continue to be in a relationship where there have been patterns of lying present, we really need to protect ourselves. Some of the takeaways that we would love for you listeners is
