On this episode, we continue our conversation with actress Josie Bissett.  Now that her children are in college, Josie finds herself in a place many midlife women themselves - a place of transition.  We discuss her work during this time of transition, her health and wellness and her hopes for the future (an ensemble series perhaps?).  Of course, we talk menopause as well.

We discuss her children's book Tickle Monster and how it has become such a mainstay for many families to promote bonding and laughter.

This week's guest is the incredible actress Josie Bissett.  Josie is recognized internationally for her role as the popular 'Jane Mancini' on FOX-TV's "Melrose Place," which ended its successful seven-year run in May 1999. 

The Seattle native began her career in front of the camera at the age of 12 as a model in print advertisements and television commercials.  At 16, she left home and moved to Japan to further her career and at 17 headed to Hollywood to make her mark.  Josie soon landed the role of 'Cara' on "The Hogan Family," where she spent two seasons.  Within two years of her arrival in Los Angeles, Josie was cast on "Melrose Place" and quickly became one of television's most recognizable actors. 

In Part 1 of our interview, we talk to Josie about her recent guest appearance on Fantasy Island and now as an empty nester, her desire to enter the acting world again.  She shares how her career started and what it was like to be married young in Hollywood.  We also dish on what it was like to work on the set of Melrose Place and so much more.

On this episode, we celebrate women over 50 with the Women Over 50 Film Festival.  The festival's creator Nuahla O'Sullivan shares her story and how the festival came to be.  In 2014 she wrote and produced a short film, Microscope, and it was her experience of submitting this short to film festivals and attending festivals that brought home to her how underrepresented older women were on both sides of the camera.  WOFFF was then created.

Women Over 50 Film Festival (WOFFF) champions and showcases the work of older women on screen and behind the camera with an annual short film festival and year-round events and film screenings.  Every film WOFFF screens has a woman over 50 at the heart of it on screen or a woman over 50 as the writer, producer or director. There’s no upper age limit and all genders are invited to submit films.

This year's event will be a hybrid of online and in person and people around the world will be able to virtually watch the 57 2021 films beginning September 25 through October 2nd.

On Episode 65, we speak with the amazingly talented actress, Lesley Ann Warren.  After winning Broadway’s “Most Promising Newcomer” Award at the age of 17, in the Broadway production 110 In the Shade, Lesley Ann Warren found stardom on the small screen in the title role of the legendary Rogers & Hammerstein’s musical adaptation of Cinderella.

It was her brilliant performance in Blake Edwards’ comic masterpiece, Victor/Victoria, that won her nominations for an Academy Award, and a Golden Globe, as well as winning a New York Film Critics Award and a People’s Choice Award. Additionally, Warren received nominations for a Golden Globe for Songwriter, and a People’s Choice Award for Choose Me

Warren’s recurring roles in television include a comedic tour de force opposite Sydney Pollack on NBC’s hit comedy Will & Grace, the ABC series Desperate Housewives and most recently, five seasons in the USA Network drama, In Plain Sight.  Warren’s recently released ECHO BOOMERS starring opposite Michael Shannon is currently streaming and her film 3 DAYS WITH DAD is also streaming starring opposite J.K. Simmons.
