The funny thing about being surrounded by Realtors is that you hear other agents constantly complaining about being slow and/or busy and at any given moment you could be one or the other. This week on the pod we are thrilled to snag a guest who's designs we've been following for years! There's nothing better than an email update from the famous Alma Homes where we get to see beautiful houses plus hear what the owner, Kirsten, is up to. We even learned about her recent 30A beach condo reno this way and just got back from staying in that perfect space!

Kirsten Erickson is the Owner of Alma Homes, a boutique design-build firm based out of Minneapolis, MN. She founded Alma in 2017 with the intent to create beautiful homes that are designed around the way her clients' lived. We loved interviewing her to learn about this journey and the business she has built.

Non-traditional broker, flat-fee broker, limited-service broker or simply discount broker, there are quite a few names for a brokerage that doesn't run in the "standard" model. In this episode we interviewed one of our listeners who kindly volunteered to talk about her time at a discount brokerage. Michele started at a discount brokerage her first year in real estate and closed 113 transactions that year. Her office operated with about 350 listings going at any given time and a very small staff. She shares with us how the office got leads and how they served their clients. We learn about the general office philosophies plus lots of specifics on their processes. Talking with Michele was truly eye opening. As an agent on the other side of a transaction with a limited-service broker you can guess what is going on behind the scenes, but to hear a personal account of how this office ran was fascinating.
