Unfortunately, Lara was being mirrored, and the supportive boyfriend quickly became invalidating and manipulative.

It's a story of being chosen, mirroring, future faking, invalidation, flying monkeys, hoovering, sexual humiliation, love bombing, manipulation disguised as transparency, self esteem, gaslighting, intermittent reinforcement, guilt trips, triangulation, rage, and playing the victim.
