It was exactly 8 years ago today that Maz embarked on a sober experiment for a month. This is the first time Maz has spent time unpacking the story that led up her last drink, the reason for a month off the booze and what evolved into a fully fledged sobriety journey! Sarah is a certified Women's Health and Wellbeing Coach, an accredited Grey Area Drinking Coach and a Key-Note speaker sharing her journey to Sobriety and impact of alcohol on mental health to global audiences. She is also the face behind Perth’s growing Alcohol-Free Movement.

After developing what she describes as 'a dysfunctional relationship with alcohol', Sarah made the decision to remove alcohol from her life in early 2019 and has never looked back. She now works with women across the globe, guiding them from feeling lost, stuck and out of control (something she fully understands herself), to a healthier and happier way of living.

What a treat, and why did I cry?

David Campbell is one of Australia’s most popular and versatile entertainers. A proven television and radio host, he also headlines theatre, cabaret and concert performances, as well as being an ARIA winning, multi-platinum recording artist. DC (or as Maz has always called him Mr. Showbiz) shares in this candid conversation the moment he realized he was done with drinking, it was after a surprisingly low-key night at home.

David has has a spectacular career, and Maz and David have circled around each other in various media jobs and social settings, drunk and not, for many years. So it was a sweet and special to reconnect and talk about sobriety, parenting and the how important sharing our sobriety stories is.

Blair is an alcohol-free wife and Mum from Rochester, Minnesota. 

She removed alcohol from her life when her son was 18 months old. Throughout her drinking career she had a lot of moments that should have made her quit, but she didn’t realize life without alcohol was possible. Once she became a mom, she gained a new responsibility and could no longer live in the cycle she was in.

In February of 2018, after another typical weekend of drinking too much and another horrible hangover, she found a blog post that inspired her to start her alcohol-free journey. 

Since 2014 Blair has been working as a Psychometrist…she works directly with patients and tests their thinking. She has been a wife to Rodney since 2015 and a mom to Kyus since 2016. She’s a tall introverted homebody who loves to eat cheese and watch reality television.

Since going alcohol free, Blair has been pursuing her passion for writing. She blogs on Instagram, has a personal blog on her website www.blairsharp.com, and is a staff writer for Rochester Mom, a parenting resource in her community. Blair also is a host for 1000 Hours Dry Parents on Wednesdays, and does guest blogging.

Blair loves to laugh, and has a sarcastic and blunt personality. She doesn’t take life too seriously.

She says that if she can help one person by telling her story, that’s enough for her.

Rachael Layton is a certified alcohol coach who uses her own experience, as well as the knowledge gained through her training, to help women take back control of their drinking.

After years of questioning how much she was drinking and worrying about the impact it was having on her health, peri-menopause proved to be the final straw.

As someone who had their life together in every other way (as much as any of us really have our lives together!), she couldn’t understand why she would regularly drink more than she wanted to. When she realised her drinking was making her peri-menopause symptoms worse, she knew she had to make a change.

We talk about being 'piss fit', the practical steps Rachael took to regain control of her drinking behaviour, and how Rachael's experience with peri-menopause completely turned around after giving up alcohol.
