Belle Robertson accidentally created one of the most loved anonymous sober support BLOG's in the world. Tired of thinking about her drinking, Belle published a BLOG in her early sobriety to detail her thoughts and keep her accountable to the wild choice she made 9 days previous, to be sober. This turned into a community for people who wanted anonymity but a sober pen pal and Belle has helped thousands of people navigate sobriety.
Belle and Maz discuss the idea of sobriety as looking through the lens of 'micro-adjustments' rather than radical change, Belle has so much wisdom to offer from her personal journey and sharing the stories of those that she has helped on their sobriety journey.
You can reach out to Belle: [email protected] and check out her much loved website www.tiredothinkingaboutdrinking.com

In this episode of Last Drinks, Maz talks to The Alcohol Mindset Coach, Kathryn Elliott. Kath lives in Melbourne, Australia with her husband, three sons and much-loved cocker spaniel and believes too much time in our lives are spent in our heads and not our hearts. Humans crave connection, community, love and belonging. Drinking excessively, unconsciously and mindlessly takes us away from ourselves and our true nature.
Kath's story is a big story.
A mega AFL fan, Kath now watches sports sober and is keen to disrupt the narrative that booze and sport are intertwined. Kath is also a breast cancer survivor and we discuss the lack of information regarding the cancer risks that alcohol consumption is known to pose.

Danielle Rigg-Smith and Maz used to work in radio together, in different departments, but were both exposed to the alcohol-fueled normalcy of working in media from a young age at the beginning of their careers.
Dani quit booze because her husband, Dan - yes they are Dan & Dani but not from The Block - signed up for a month long fitness challenge at F45. They haven't had a drink since. Dani is now the Industry Lead Sales Manager at Tik Tok, and is spending her sober days trying to shift the narrative in the media world around alcohol consumption. Maz and Dani reflect on the early days of Polly the grog Trolly and connect over their passion to see a shift for their children's generation.

In this episode of Last Drinks Maz pulls apart the history of drinking in Australia, we go right back to the First Fleet and, wait, how much rum did they put on that ship? With the hope to help people understand why Australia has such a problem with alcohol in 2022, sometimes the history books are where we can find the 'why' and when we know why, we can re-write the narrative. Plus the patchwork of drinking behaviors and demographics that are current in Australia.
