Why do so many adults who experienced childhood trauma struggle with self-respect?
This episode explores how early childhood wounds shape self-worth, boundaries, and the tendency to tolerate less than we deserve as an adult
I hope by understanding the survival strategies formed in childhood, you can begin replacing the tendency to self-abandon and lose yourself with SELF LOVE...and start rebuilding self-respect today

Today’s episode isn’t an easy listen if you grew up in tough circumstances that impact you today.
This episode is especially for you if you ever notice yourself acting in ways that don’t feel true to who you are or if you struggle to hold onto your sense of dignity
I explore ‘developmental trauma’ and how early experiences of neglect, misattunement, or ongoing stress can shape your adult life today.
When safety, consistency, and validation are missing - children adapt in order to survive. As adults, those adaptations can show up as anxiety, people pleasing, difficulty with boundaries, emotional overwhelm, or a deep sense that your worth is conditional.
So if you find yourself acting out of character or doing things that don’t feel truly respectful or loving toward yourself, this episode is definitely for you. Make sure to listen - you deserve to understand your patterns.

Is anxious attachment or worry causing you pain right now? This episode is for the woman that is absolutely determined to stop being taken over and hijacked by emotions, triggers, and the past!
What if your journey is not about “fixing” your anxiety or fixing yourself… instead it is about having a new kind of relationship with your anxiety and with yourself?
In this first episode of 2026, I’m taking you on a walk with me (no fancy studio, just real talk and nature sounds to add some extra charm). Together, we’ll slow down, get grounded, and chat about what it means for you to truly live with more intention and from a place where you feel like you are in your power - even when anxiety shows up.
If you’re tired of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like anxiety is running the show, this episode is for you. It’s about choosing a different way to live….one that feels more real, bolder, braver, and aligned with YOU - your true self, that’s who this episode is connecting you - you’ll feel it!
No pressure. No quick fixes. Just honest conversation and a little hope for the year ahead.
In this episode, we talk about what changing your relationship with anxiety really means, why it’s okay to focus on intention, not perfection, how acceptance can actually help you feel better, finding the real you under all the anxious thoughts, and starting the year with a bit more courage and self-kindness.
Ready to start the year with a fresh perspective? Hit play and join me on this walk.

This meditation is a gentle shield for moments that feel overwhelming.
Whether you’re navigating difficult conversations, challenging people, intense relationships, or emotionally charged situations, this practice helps you stay grounded without taking everything personally.
It’s designed to support you in remaining true to yourself, less reactive, and less triggered—so you can move through life with more ease, clarity, and self-protection. By strengthening your inner boundaries, you’re more likely to cope calmly and respond from a place of balance rather than stress.
You can listen to this meditation before entering a challenging situation, or take a short break during the day whenever you need to reset and reconnect with yourself.

In this episode I (Carly Ann) am honoured to sit with mental health counsellor Lara Land for an honest and important conversation about trauma and recovery.
As you will hear, Lara is a compassionate expert - she is qualified, realistic, and so passionate which is what this podcast is all about.
This is really one not to be missed if you are interested in trauma recovery for yourself or clients.
We talk about trauma, without quick fixes or overwhelming explanations. This episode explores how trauma affects the nervous system, why healing is deeply connected to safety and choice, and how recovery can unfold at a pace that feels supportive rather than scary.
This episode is for anyone who wants a clearer, more compassionate understanding of trauma and what healing truly involves

Listen if you self-sabotage
If you’ve ever wondered why you keep falling into the same habits, the same blocks, or the same frustrating cycles, this episode is going to hit home. I'm diving deep into self-sabotage (the quiet, often unconscious ways you get in your own way and hold yourself back from the life, relationships, success, and happiness you’re trying to create)
You’ll hear why these repeat patterns show up again and again, even when you know what you “should” be doing, and even when you genuinely want things to change. We explore the inner mechanisms that trigger self-sabotage, the hidden beliefs that keep you stuck, and the subtle ways your mind tries to protect you by doing the opposite of what you need.
And because awareness is only the first step, this episode also includes a powerful guided exercise designed to help you interrupt these patterns and start shifting them in real time.
If you’re tired of being the one thing standing between you and your goals… if you’re ready to understand why you keep repeating the same self-sabotaging behaviours… and if you want a practical tool you can use anytime you feel yourself slipping back into old patterns - you’ll want to listen all the way through.

If you worry and spiral, this episode is with you in mind.
I'm thinking of you if you catch yourself fixating on a mistake you made, or worrying about someone abandoning you, or worrying about what might go wrong...and it takes over your mind and can be paralysing.
This pattern is truly a therapy insight, this is a key part of education for managing worry and it could really make a difference if you are keen to worry less.

In this episode, we dive deep into the moments that send us spinning and spiralling. Christina Lane joins us for an honest conversation about what a spiral really is, how to recognise the early signs, and how to support yourself so you can respond instead of react.
We explore whether it’s truly possible to stop being triggered by certain things, why triggers happen in the first place, and how self-awareness can shift the entire experience. Christina also shares practical strategies to prevent a spiral, interrupt it once it starts, and guide yourself back before you reach the point of regret.
If you’re struggling with spiralling and feeling like it's out of your control - this episode will help you understand the answer and show you how to navigate the moment with more clarity, compassion, and control.
Christina would love to gift listeners her free somatic tools -an Audio Reset for Men and a Journal for Women- both designed to bring you back into presence and connection.
