In this powerful episode, Baylee, a labor and delivery nurse pulls back the curtain on her two cesarean births—and the emotional and personal growth that came with each one.
Her first birth happened early in her nursing career. She trusted the process, trusted the staff, and expected her induction to unfold with guidance and support. Instead, she was met with fear-based messaging, pressure to comply, and decisions made without truly informed consent. The result? A cesarean she didn’t feel prepared for—physically or emotionally.
Her second birth was different.
Yes, it ended in the OR again—but this time, everything had changed.
She found VBAC-supportive care, hired a doula, asked hard questions & advocated for what mattered most
And while her second cesarean wasn’t the VBAC she had planned, it was family-centered, respectful, and deeply healing.
We talk about:
This isn’t just a story of two cesareans. It’s a story of clarity, confidence, and what happens when you finally feel seen in the birth room.
Baylee is a wife, mama of 2, and an OB nurse. Her passion lies within supporting other mamas through pregnancy, birth, and motherhood. She aspires to become a CNM thanks to God guiding her path with each birthing experience. Sharing her story on this podcast is another way God is using her for good.

Birth isn’t just physical — it’s emotional, it’s mental, it’s soul-deep.
In today’s episode, I’m sitting down with the incredible Jessica Rushing to talk about what happens when emotions take center stage in labor. Jessica shares a powerful story of emotional twists in birth and how working through those feelings, instead of against them, made all the difference.
We dive deep into why preparing your mindset during pregnancy is just as critical as prepping your birth plan — and how that emotional work can set you up for a not just a strong birth, but a transformational postpartum.
Because here’s the truth: when you strengthen your mind, you’re not just preparing for birth — you’re setting the tone for your motherhood journey. 💥
Get ready for a conversation full of honesty, heart, and seriously empowering takeaways.

✔️ How to understand “risk” in a way that empowers you, not paralyzes you
✔️ Why your provider’s vibe, language, and attitudes matter more than you might realize—and how to spot red flags early

✔️ What it really looks like to make a decision that’s rooted in your truth, your body, and your baby—not anyone else’s agenda

Did you know that the way you position your body during labor can literally make or break how smoothly things progress? 🤯
Most hospital births still default to pushing flat on your back—but here’s the truth your OB might not mention: your pelvis is designed to MOVE—and your labor positions should too!
In this episode, we’re breaking it all down:
🔹 The three major parts of the pelvis—the inlet, midpelvis, and outlet—and how different movements and positions help baby navigate each one
🔹 Why lying flat can actually stall labor (and what positions open your pelvis and encourage progress)
🔹 The best movement and position strategies even if you have an epidural (yes, you can still move and adjust!)
🔹 How your partner, doula, or support team can help you change positions easily and keep things flowing
Your body was made for this. Movement isn’t just nice—it’s essential.
Tune in to learn how to work with your body, maximize your labor progress, and feel more powerful and comfortable every step of the way. 💪✨
You deserve a birth where your body leads—and this episode will show you how.

Today we’re talking about something every pregnant woman deserves to know: how to advocate for yourself in pregnancy and birth — without apology, without fear, and without shrinking to make others comfortable.
