The Waiting Room on Dublin Talks: Too Much Coffee
Every week on Dublin Talks we have your medical questions answered in The Waiting Room.
Dr Sharon Delaney is on hand to give expert advice and tips on any issues you may have.
Here's this week's topics:
Can you ask your doctor about caffeine. What are the safe amounts to drink? I drink about 5 cups of coffee a day. One when I wake up… one on the way to work. One at lunch. And then another 2 cups.. How much caffeine is too much? I’m sure I’m not alone – us Irish are coffee addicts
I have a question about breast feeding. I’m naturally feeding my 1 month old baby at the moment and im hoping to continue. I’ve been hearing mixed messages
About whether or not you can drink while breast feeding? With xmas coming up id like to have a few drinks? Is this bad when feeding naturally? Also, are there foods I should avoid?
I have a question for Dr Delaney. I have started on anti depressants for depression and anxiety a few months ago. After the first month the dose was increased and its been 2 months since then. I don't think they are doing anything as I still feel as anxious as I had been. How long should it be before I notice a big difference? When should I go back to my doctor?
