Today is all about breath breath breath… Kate Swedberg is extremely courageous to share her story with us today. She first overcame an eating disorder, only to find her self in debilitating pain, which then led her on a long journey of healing, not only from the chronic illness, but also her emotional body as well, as so many of us discover is part of the work. Kate was first inspired by the work of Dr Sarno, which led her into various forms of breath work and somatic healing practices. As you first start listening to this wild and crazy story she shares you will not initially be able to believe it could possibly all be Mind Body related… I mean the pain shows up in a really compelling way for her, and up front it all seems very physically induced… but as she will explain, it was indeed the emotional work she did that led her to 100% healing, not the variety of physical treatments that took her for a runaround only exacerbating more symptoms along the way. She has a few unique components to her story as well… after years of suffering so bad to the point she actually questioned her desire to live, she not only fully recovered, but she had amazing physical relief in a really short period of time. She talks about how after the physical symptoms subsided she actually got a therapist and continued the deeper layers of emotional work. Remember, healing is not one size fits all, and its not the same for everyone, and that is ok. Happy Healing!

Today’s guest is Dani Fagan, from England. Dani not only has a great story to share but she is wonderful way or sharing full of whit, humor, and an occasional curse word or two, but all in good fun. We get into so much juicy good stuff…. go deep into all the stuff she tried that didn’t work, and what led her to what did. We talk about both Dr Sarno, and Nicole Sachs and the influence their work had on her healing. And while this show is for everyone who has ever had weird random unexplainable pain, this is especially for you if you have ever felt pain in your hip.

Coming from a fitness background, I am not a stranger to the classic myth that our hips are tight from sitting… I fell for this once upon a time myself, spreading the message “sitting is the new smoking”. Honestly though, IMO, this couldn’t be further from the truth… Yes our lifestyle plays a huge role…but if you are the person who has tight hips or quads and you have tried “everything” spend an hour rolling them out only to have them tighten back up? Then it might be time to redirect your focus…. Dani goes in deep teaching us about how the psoas is known as “the muscle of the soul”. When we are experiencing stress in our life this will cause tension and tightness in our psoas muscle and this directly affects so many other systems in our body… Pelvic pain? Back pain? Digestive issues? Shallow breathing? Fatigue? Get the point?
