Welcome to the Peak Endurance podcast! Episode 147 is an interview with Deb Sharp, founder and owner of EMS, endurance medical services. EMS provides first aid and emergency medical care to athletes in endurance races. Deb is a critical care registered nurse. She currently runs the medical emergency team for all code blue and deteriorating patients. She is trained in major incident medical management, hospital incident medical management and is the director and instructor for the Australian resuscitation council ALS programs, as well as director and instructor for TRAUMA core training and advanced wilderness life support. She is one amazing woman!!

January 31, 2022 Karl Meltzer: 100 miles is not that far.
Welcome to the Peak Endurance podcast! Episode 146 is an interview with Karl Meltzer, also known as Speedgoat Karl. He recently won his 45th 100-mile race and has maintained a 20-year streak of winning at least one 100-mile race every year. He has the record for the most 100-mile wins during a calendar year with six in 2006, four of them record performances, the final four in a period of eight weeks. Karl comes onto the podcast to talk to me about his longevity in the sport, what he does for training and gives us some tips for tackling your first miler.

Karl has a lot to teach us about race craft and longevity in the sport. I don’t know about you, but I want to be running for as long as possible and I think that means we all need to start listening to our bodies a bit more! January 04, 2022 Pete Ripmaster: 2018 Iditarod Trail Invitational Champion.

Pete discovered running alter in life, running 50 marathons in 50 states to honour his mum. This experience fuelled his hunger to accomplish even more and served as a springboard for his cause-driven running journey. After having overcome numerous setbacks and challenges, Pete became the 2018 champion of the Iditarod Trail Invitational (ITI) 1000—a gruelling 1000-mile foot race through the harsh winter conditions of the Alaskan wilderness. She is the first woman to have completed the Aussie Grand Slam of Ultra Running with 4 races of 100 miles and over within 3 months of each other, Jane is also the first woman to have run across the Simpson Desert.
