We got emotional over Ricki’s Sydney Marathon story, then spoke to Phil Brent, who was the fastest person to complete the marathon dressed as a turtle. We got into some spectacular DIY fails, before opening the Proud Parent Hotline and hearing what Sydney parents are most proud of their kids for.

Ricki got weirdly emotional watching the Sydney Marathon on Sunday, seeing thousands of people pushing themselves through something so difficult while complete strangers lined the streets cheering them on. Then she spotted my auntie on the course and watched her tracker as she smashed through the 16K and 36K marks, which absolutely sent me over the edge. We also got into the other random things that make us cry, from kids getting older to emotional Armageddon moments and wholesome Instagram reels.

Ricki and Tim hear about the things listeners have tried to DIY, only for them to spectacularly DI-die. We hear from one bloke whose garden patch collapsed after refusing his father-in-law’s help, and another whose husband accidentally super-glued his own eye while trying to fix the roof lining of their Commodore. Ricki also reveals her mum once tried to super-glue her veneers back on after a rib-related incident, proving that some DIY jobs really should be left to the professionals.

We kicked things off with the Sydney Marathon and asked what we absolutely needed to bring for a 42km run, before chatting to the Aussie founders who chased Harry Styles through New York to hand him their merch. We got into some wild listener stories, including where people have done it and the landmarks they’d happily get married at, while New Music Friday brought a stack of fresh tracks. Plus, we heard from a bloke who accidentally bought non-alcoholic gin and called the cops.

Ricki and Tim hear from listeners about the weirdest places they’ve had sex after an Aussie man was arrested for allegedly doing it on a driveway in Bali. From a resort spa in the Maldives to behind the boat sheds at a Caribbean park, the callers are proving that sometimes the mood just takes over. The only takeaway is clear: get it done if you must, but maybe don’t pick a Bali driveway.

Two Aussie entrepreneurs spotted Harry Styles casually walking through New York and decided they had one shot to get their brand into his hands. After a quick wine-fuelled debate, they dropped everything and chased him for about a kilometre with a gift bag, eventually convincing Harry to take it. The best part? He was incredibly polite about the whole thing, even introducing himself before reluctantly accepting the merch.

The King’s Guard surprised everyone with a very unexpected performance of Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5, before we found out which celebrities have actually written back to people who reached out to them. Callan Boys told Sydney where we should be eating, heard from a kid who couldn’t believe he was breastfed, and found out what made ordinary people accidental heroes. Plus, listeners revealed their biggest transport disasters, from dodgy U-turns to a plane having to turn around, and Leigh Sales joined Ricki and Tim to celebrate 30 years of Australian Story and take on Quick Draw.

Ricki and Tim wanted to know which celebrities have actually written back to fans, and the stories got surprisingly wholesome. One listener revealed Georgie Parker gave her some beautiful advice when she was dreaming of becoming an actress, while another scored Anderson .Paak tickets and an invite to his after-party. Plus, Eminem shared a private note Dolly Parton had sent him, and we discovered that when Dolly was in Melbourne, she chose a KFC bucket under a tree over a fancy dinner.

Leigh Sales joins Ricki and Tim to celebrate 30 years of Australian Story and reveals how much she’s been missing Dolly Parton, while Ricki discovers Leigh has interviewed almost everyone on her wish list. Then it’s time for Quick Draw, where Leigh comes out swinging and gets increasingly competitive before an absolutely chaotic final round. Tim somehow thinks his toilet habits are worth discussing on air, and Leigh walks away victorious after answering “Cluedo” before anyone else could blink.

Ricki and Tim investigate why Australians suddenly sound completely ridiculous when they try to sing R&B songs in their natural accent. After deciding Missy Higgins is apparently the only Australian singer who can get away with it, Ricki takes on some of the biggest R&B hits, including Usher, Beyoncé and Boyz II Men.
