Nathan Stewart is a fellow Melburnian and a world class athlete across multiple sports, having won himself GOLD at the World Dwarf Games.
Born with Dwarfism it’s fair to say there were punches to roll along the way but if there’s one thing Nathan proves it’s that it takes more than stature to stand tall in this world of ours. From navigating the usual trials and tribulations of growing up that we all deal with, Nathan shares his experience from the lens of someone with their own set of genetically driven differences.
What's it like getting around in a perfectly healthy body with a perfectly healthy mind, yet to be met with (often unintentional) ignorance, curiosity and misunderstanding. Like I've said before on this show in similar yet different circumstances we don't often even give it a thought until we meet face to face with someone living with the condition.. and by then, our instinctive curiosity or biased thinking makes for an often not-so-awesome interaction. One thing we talk about however, which I love, is the grit that is developed and thus becomes an important attribute for sporting endeavours like Nathans.
If you are (or know of) someone who has dwarfism and you want to reach out to Nathan and get involved in some of the communities he mentions shoot me an email and I'll put you in touch.

Epigenetics... it's one of my fave conversations on the show. Back to natter on that very topic today is master of epigenetic science, PH360 CEO, Dr Cam McDonald.
This year Dr Cam has been working furiously with businesses, government organisations and companies across the globe, implementing Shae Wellness programs and bringing epigenetics and biology into the limelight of corporate wellbeing.
In true Crusader style Cam has ALL the data, ALL the research and ALL the science in his back pocket and after listening in you’re definitely going to sneak into your employers podcast queue and push this episode to the front.
If you haven’t heard Cams previous episodes on here they are EP9 on epigenetics in general and EP51 where we looked at the relationship between biology and trauma with expert trauma therapist Ann Larson.

Hold your breath for today's guest... literally! Patrick McKeown, Author of more than a few books including The Oxygen Advantage and his latest masterpiece The Breathing Cure joins me today and blows (pun intended) my mind with all things breathing and just what a medicinal wonderland our breath actually is.
From sports performance to focus and learning, from sleep apnea to asthma and low and behold, one heavily discussed RWTP topic, anxiety and depression. If I could have kept Patrick for 10 hours on this episode I dare say my enthusiasm nor my questions would have diminished. Albeit at times mighty scientific this chat both went deep, yet barely scratched the surface of what Patrick can share with us on breathing.
If this episode doesn't prompt you to share it and discuss it with everyone you bump into, I don't know what will.

Hands up if you LOVE someone who over-delivers? Gee whizz, me too.
Well buckle up for the ride today, Matty Lansdown was one of those guests. Educated, passionate, hilarious and full of beans... it's fair to say I loved this chat on all levels. We go deep on some history and science, the pharmaceutical industry, nutrition stuff and life stuff.
As host of the podcast 'How To Not Get Sick And Die', old mate Matty stayed true to his word. I didn't get sick or die!
You're going to love this chat. Just when I think it's going to be tough for someone to raise your eyebrow on a topic I've lived and breathed myself for a while, out he comes swinging!
Enjoy :)

Peter Bellion is a former crash scene investigator and reconstruction expert from Victoria Police’s Major Collision Investigation Group.
Over the 30+ years Peter spend with Victoria Police, he attended more than 2,000 fatalities which includes the deaths of 20 police officers. It is said that Peter has seen more broken bodies and carnage than any other police officer in Australia... Quite the title to hold, hey?
When I think of how being exposed to any single fatality can affect a human quite deeply, I can't even process what 2,000 such exposures over a 30 year period could possibly be like for people like Peter who, for them.. Is just another day at work.
It's such a privilege to be able to sit one on one with someone like Peter and hear first hand what it's like having a career in the trenches, not to mention how our first responders manage themselves amidst the mayhem.
I can't thank Peter enough, not only for this chat but also for the difference he made over his 30 years to the diminished number of road fatalities per year. The world certainly is better off from having him in it.
Enjoy!

Ever ponder what underlying factors influence our decisions, choices, feelings, beliefs, actions and overall behaviour?
It's something I've pondered frequently over the years and been fascinated by. In fact, I think if we don't explore this stuff we limit our own ability to change, grow and evolve... So I've pulled my fave life-guru Harps in to shoot the breeze on this topic with me. We talk about people, beliefs, self-awareness and all that stuff ya'll know I love.
Get around it, I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed being in the conversation!

As I chatted with Dom dos Remedios recently about our current sponsorship support I recited my how-it-came-about story of becoming an accidental PT back in 2014. 'That's pretty fascinating for your listeners to hear about' seemed to be his perspective... And so we decided I'd swap seats for an episode and let Dom fire the questions my way about how I slipped and landed in the fitness industry and all the lessons I learned along the way.
This episode will definitely interest anyone who is already in or is wanting to enter the fitness industry. It will also interest anyone looking at any type of career change as there are a few mindset and discussions around the practical experience of making and adapting to change.
I hope you enjoy... or at least aren't bored stiff :)

Ever picture a 55-year-old tearing around the rugby field with a bunch of 20-30 year old’s and holding their own?
Well, pending where you sit with your own age and the perception of what age-appropriate activities are, I’m sure there are a variety of reactions to this idea. But me...? Well I’m definitely on 'team Dr Aaron Tressler' when it comes to physical health, movement, healing and recovery.
He’s what Paul Taylor would call a pracademic (someone who’s studied the theory and also puts it into practice). I love Aaron's energy and philosophy in life, ageing and human movement. I love someone who refuses to let the usual ideologies around what activities we should and shouldn't do when we hit certain mileages. A Chiropractor, natural health expert, athlete and podcast host of 'Making Pittsburg Healthy', it was a bloody pleasure bantering with this legend!
If there's one thing I'm seeing in my guests, is that when they're active in their doing and thinking then they look years younger than what their chronological age states they should.
Get around this EP and perhaps you can throw your hat in the ring at your local rugby club too.

Grab a seat, it's Bobby & I riffing again... well let's be honest, Bobby riffs a whole lot better than I do about most things but I feel mighty blessed to have him riffing on my show. Today we talk 'The Alpha'.
Cappuccio, as always, immaculately articulates the concepts around how we interpret ideas and navigate the world around us. We understand an alpha to be a leader and a dominant person of a group, however in true Self Help Antidote form Bobby unpacks how we have somewhat butchered the concept of being an alpha and just how far it has strayed from what we see from an alpha in the animal kingdom.
My mind was blown by how much sense this made and how we can take human behaviour and leadership to the next level if we learn from some of our furry friends.

Roll With The Punches is where we step into the ring and go toe to toe with the hard sh*t life throws our way.
Hosted by former boxing champ turned strength coach and speaker Tiff Cook, RWTP brings you big conversations with world-class guests about psychology, relationships, trauma, the brain, and the patterns that can make a bloody mess of our lives.
If you're curious about human behaviour, keen to challenge the stories you tell yourself, and want to understand why the hell you do what you do, you're in the right place. Tune in. Tiff's in your corner.
The goal? To question what you've always believed, understand yourself a little better, and turn those aha moments into actual change.
Because knowing better and doing better are two very different things.
And let's be honest... life's gonna keep throwing punches. We may as well learn how to roll with them.
