Seahawks Forever w/ Dan Viens

Brian North of WCTI-TV in Greenville NC might know Seahawks backup QB Holton Ahlers as well as anyone. He covered him as a sportscaster all through his high school and college careers.

Brian joins me on the show to give us an inside look at who Ahlers is, how he's wired, and whether or not he has a chance to succeed as an NFL QB.

Is Ahlers the best developmental QB the Seahawks have had under Pete Carroll and John Schneider?

Our good friend Matty Brown from Seattle Overload Podcast joins the show today to do what he does best, break down what the Seahawks are doing on defense from a schematic standpoint:

**Are the pieces in place to improve the run defense that struggled so badly in 2022?

**Did any of the young D-linemen or EDGE players show out in the mock game?

**Matty chimes in on the debate of whether first-round pick Devon Witherspoon is being "wasted" by playing him at slot CB.

I'm excited to welcome Hawks Nest host Brandon Cain to the show to get his thoughts on what he's seen and heard so from from Seattle Seahawks training camp:

**The move of Jarran Reed to nose tackle and how that impacts the defensive line.

**Is the Reed move an indictment of rookie Cam Young and his ability to contribute right away?

**How does it affect the DE position, and do the Seahawks still need to ADD players to the defensive line?

**How concerned is Brandon with the injuries to RB's Zach Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker? Is Kenny McIntosh ready to shoulder the load?

**Who/What has stood out to him the most in camp so far?

**We talk SCHEME! Changes to the defensive attack and how he sees those playing out.

**What's he seeing from Bobby Wagner in his return to Seattle?

And believe it or not MUCH MORE! We cover a lot of ground here, I hope you enjoy!

While big-name running backs around the league are seeking trades and threatening to hold out because they feel they're undervalued financially, the Seahawks have stacked their RB room with young, dynamic, cheap talent.

Are they now the envy of the league? Have they set themselves up for long term success both physically and financially at that position with their recent draft approach? Are they better-situated than any other NFL team right now at the RB position?

Hear my thoughts in this special audio-only episode of the show.
